Fresh off a full moon in Pisces, September starts with plenty of uncertainty – and a well deserved long weekend. Take a day off but don’t get too comfy. By Sunday, Sept 2, the stars will start stoking the fire again. The south and north nodes, also known as the karmic axis, have just advanced into Taurus/Scorpio. Marking the moon’s travel north or south of the sun’s path, every 18 months they feature an evolutionary subject du jour. Eclipses occur along the nodal path and mark acceleration peaks within the 18 month developmental track. This last nodal chapter, featuring Gemini/Sagittarius nodes, has been one of multi-tracks, the domino effect, the shifting target, everything all at once, the revolving door experience. We’ve heard/seen/debated every angle. Duality, duplicity, and contradiction has occurred every where we look. It’s been an inner experience too. For the next 18 months, Taurus/Scorpio, the survival axis, will be our collective chapter heading. This nodal chapter will take us through an intensified collective shadow-work cycle. Matters that will claim more urgent attention: the economy, debt, taxes; politics, power, power agendas; death, decay, destruction; precious resources, oil, exploration, addictions, mining, and consumption; everything to do with sex and sexuality, sexual health, reproduction, morality, etc. What lives, what dies? What’s most lucrative and functional, what isn’t? What needs to be completely overhauled? Are there enough resources to go around? Taurus/Scorpio correlates/exposes us to the profane and the sacred, to the fecund and the destructive, to the transformative and empowering, to betrayal, corruption, devastation, and violation. Most of us will agree that the value systems that perpetuate our current reality are in need of critical surgery. How much rape and pillage can we - as individuals, as workers, as societies, and as planetary inhabitants, take? We are playing for especially high stakes. How much longer can we keep going this way? Where should we invest our max/our best; where lies our treasure chest? How can we create a better, more sustainable, abundant, loving and life honouring reality? If we strip it right down, we are likely to find that we have most of the answers already. In fact, Pluto in Capricorn has already begun the hard-hat project. The next 18 months will accelerate the work already in progress. To Oct 6, Mars in Scorpio intensifies the daily get-go. Along with the Uranus/Pluto transit on Sept 18, Mars in Scorpio sets the political race to the White house and the Syrian crisis onto a more crucial timetable now. Mars in Scorpio will transit sensitive degrees on Sept 2, 5, 20, and 24, 29, 30. Whether they act as subtle under-currents or hold more noticeable effect, these dates stimulate the last two eclipses of the year. Nov 13 delivers a solar eclipse in Scorpio and Nov 28 brings a lunar eclipse in Sagittarius. Both hold jurisdiction over the USA Nov 6 election. (Remember that eclipses will energize before the actual event and they will continue to hold resonance for duration of time.) Also note that Mars in Scorpio will transit al-Assad’s Neptune on Sept 18, the Nov 13 solar eclipse triggers his moon (the Syrian people) and the Nov 28 lunar eclipse triggers his karmic axis. Through September and October, the transit of Jupiter in Gemini will also stimulate sensitive degrees, specifically the lunar eclipse and Venus transit/occultation of June 4 to 6. What occurred for you during this time? It’ll move to the next platform now. Jupiter sets the stage for another intensified expansion and growth time for relationships, financial matters, career, and lifestyle changes. Jupiter in Gemini is a mobilizing and migration influence. When it catches wind, it can light a quite a fire. Jupiter in Gemini suggests student protests, education, social icons, media and media technology, etc. will continue to be newsmakers. Jupiter in Gemini also pertains to sports and transportation so it’s not surprising to note that the major negotiations are underway, namely the USA/Canada auto workers and the NHL. Both contract endings/deadlines coincide with the Uranus square Pluto transit on Sept 18. (Yes, astrology’s clock is amazing, isn’t it?) Will it get down to the last minute wire? Mercury in Virgo in this first half of the month suggests there’s plenty of nagging issues/details to hash out. The new moon in corrective Virgo on Sept 15 pilots a potentially productive and healing moving-ahead cycle. Then again, it could launch more crisis, labour disputes, etc. Sept 16 through 20 is sure to deliver an intense go. On Sept 16, Mercury advances into Libra, the contract archetype.
