Watermelon Slices - Look Ma, No Rinds! : )

Yum, Watermelon slices!  Who doesn't love Watermelon?  And especially when it's really hot outside, it's lovely to have some nice, cool and crispy watermelon slices.  And not to have to worry about where to put the watermelon rind, if you're at a party, or if you've taken your watermelon to the living room, and now you're all comfy on the couch, and you can't be bothered walking all the way back to the kitchen to throw out your watermelon rinds.... lol!

I don't know why I didn't think of this, before, but we are totally out of space in our fridge, as usual... I make a lot o' fancy things, and they're always taking up a lot of space in the fridge, and then we go and get more fancy stuff that we love, jam that in the fridge... anyway, so this was my Big Solution, and we looove it!  And it made soo many watermelon slices.... and my son still had a giant quarter-of-the-melon slice - funny boy! lol!

So, really, I hadn't thought of cutting it in slices when I started out with this lovely , fresh watermelon, tonight, but then I thought, well, I'll just try it... this is how everything great ever starts for me! haha!  I just cut the watermelon in half, as usual, then cut slices to the rind, then carefully removed the 'meat' of the watermelon... can't think of a better word than that, so hopefully no one is offended by that... but you know what I mean - just carefully remove the fruit, then cut thick slices, then cut each of those thick slices into nice relatively thin slices... is soo great!

And today I'm making Watermelon Popsicles - yum! Fresh and delicious!

Just cut your Watermelon into thick slices, push a popsicle stick into each slice of Watermelon, and pop in the freezer - we had to use a bunch of little pieces of plastic wrap to keep each Watermelon Popsicle separate, so they're easy to take apart, don't stick together into one giant Watermelon Popsicle - lol! Yum!

Just cut both ends of the watermelon off, then removed the peel so you have a nice, easy section to cut into thick slices - and what you don't freeze into popsicles, you can slice any thickness you like - I love the little thin slices of watermelon - light and delicious! #SoGood!

See how easy? Sooo easy! lol!

And then we just save our popsicle sticks, now, wash them and keep them for the next new popsicles we like to make! Yum! Make Your Own Popsicles!

Here's something fun to make, if the person (or you!) happens to love Watermelon, and they might like a Watermelon Cake... you could cover it lightly with some icing of whip cream (think I would be more likely to go with the whip cream... or mix the two, together, right - a very extra-light icing? )

You could just cut the top off of it, too, if you want it to be flat at the top, too : )

Brazil Nuts - Yum!
And then, covered in Dark Chocolate? Yes, please! : )

Oh, did you read that study that suggests that Brazil Nuts have all sorts of amazing Health Benefits? Very cool, right?  Nuts of all varieties - not the ones you might have dated - bah'hahahaha! - but all the regular nuts, cashews, pecans, walnuts... all of them - and the Dried Fruit - yum! So delicious, really good for you and your family - and great prices, too? Yes, please!

Oh, Nuts!

Hey, did you know this is how Brazil Nuts come about? haha! Who knew? Not me! lol!

That is the coolest, right? And those aren't my pics - although, one day, now, I wanna go check this out, all on mah' own, too! lol! Now I'm curiouser and curiouser! haha!

I cut the Watermelon Rind off right in the bag - makes it super-easy to toss it out, or, better yet, put it in a compost, if you happen to have a compost.. a lot of places have the community members just separate their produce refuse (if you will - lol!), and it's sent directly to a community compost area - good idea, right? They should let people just go and get the good composted soil, whenever they need it, since they're going to all the bother of sending it to the composting place, right? Hmmm...

We just cover it lightly, pop it in the fridge, so we can just go in and quickly get a little slice of watermelon - quick and easy, neat and tidy : )

Now you and your guests, or children, or anyone you might choose to share your watermelon with (!), can easily have a nice, neat little slice of watermelon, no muss, no fuss, and no mess!  Yahoo!  No one's gonna drip watermelon juice all over your beautiful white carpet - hahaha!  Noo, I joke, you prolly haven't invited anyone over for watermelon parties on your beautiful white carpet - very smart.  Keep it for yourself in the kitchen! lol!

 Yum, right? Deeelish!

Oh, you know what I've been meaning to try, and may be you have the room in your freezer, and you can keep the watermelon long enough to have some set aside,or left over (a miracle, in our house - lol! Everyone loooves Watermelon!)

Yum!  I got this gorgeous Godiva Chocolate Basket for Christmas, from my lovely children, last year - yum! Remarkably, ! still have sonme left - how did THAT happen?? hahahah! The Chocolate Covered Pretzels are ah'mazing!! Yum!!

Anyway, what if you cut thick slices, in rectangles, push a popsicle stick into the bottom of the Watermelon Popsicle, pop them in the freezer... would that work, I wonder? Might be worth a shot, right? That could be delicious, if it works - lol! You would have to freeze them 'flat', so they don't stick together, or wrap them, individually... or mash the Watermelon, pour it into a popsicle mould?

I think you could probably pick one up at the Dollar Store, or maybe you have one kicking around, from years ago, when everyone used to make their own popsicles.. we're Scottish, so we called them Ice Lollies - what a cute name, right? hahahaha! That takes me back! lol! And sounds like something you would go and watch - the Ice Lollies, like the Ice Capades... hahahaha!

Let me know if you try it, and if it works - lol! : )

Now I just need to find the space in my fridge for a giant Macaroni Salad, since I'm obsessed with it, these days - is soo super-crazy-healthy, soo delicious, a nice, no-brainer meal, any time, fat-free, jam packed full o' veggies... is amazing, but I need a LOT o' space in the fridge for that, too... it makes a gigantic bowl of deliciousness... I'll make it, tomorrow, but would be perfect alongside your watermelon slices for a Summer BBQ : )

Enjoy!  Ailsa : )

You can keep your whole Watermelon, sliced, right in a 9" X 13" pan - that slides right in the fridge, is super easy to just pop in the fridge, grad a slice, any time you like : )

I like a really nice, thin, slice of Watermelon, and now we like little Watermelon 'Sticks' - yum! Just the right amount, easy to eat, not messy - great for you, great for the carpet - lol!
