How to Keep the Weight Off During the Holidays, starting at Halloween and ending at New Years! Yikes! #Diet

Apple Crumble Diet
Omg, there are sooo many delicious things to eat during the holidays... even more than usual, right?  I'm not a big fan of not eating all those lovely things at Christmas... it's fun to eat all that delicious food!  Who doesn't love a wee treat, a wee something special, just for you?? hahaha!  Well, not to worry.  I firmly believe you can have your treats and add one little thing to your daily diet, a simple little dish that you can make in a minute (literally!).  It's my favourite 'Apple Crumble'... I have a new one that I've now been eating for years, instead of my much fancier version of Apple Crumble when I first wanted to lose 35 pounds... when I wanted to lose that weight, after my lovely son was born (okay, two years after my little man was born... man, those extra pounds were soo hard to take off... something about having a baby in your late thirties... makes that weight just want to stay put! lol!).

And who doesn't want a little wine - we'll all age gracefully! lol! ; )
Save $120 on 12 World Class Wines for $69.99, Plus Free Corkscrew Set!

So, anyway, if you can find a space in your day, each day, to add a bowl of Apple Crumble, you'll not only NOT gain weight during all the holiday eating, the chances are really high you'll lose some weight, too.  And if you want to lose a lot of poundage (like I did! lol!), just add the Apple Crumble a couple of times a day... you'll naturally want to have less other food, because the Apple Crumble is really filling, plus, it'll just make you feel like, Look at me, all healthy, 'n all, takin' good care of my body!" Hahaha!  Having a positive attitude toward the wee treat that is actually making your body healthier, is a great thing, and very good for keeping it going... and if you miss a day, no worries, add it in, tomorrow, or the next day.  Eventually, you'll find you miss it when you don't have your Apple Crumble during the day (or evening, but I find I tend to eat the Apple Crumble in the morning and afternoon... and it's super-easy to bring to work.  Just make it in the morning, pop it in the microwave at work before you sit down for a warm meal : )

Super-Simple Apple Crumble Diet

Ingredients:

Unsweetened Apple Sauce
Oatmeal
Cinnamon

Could it beee any easier??
Sprinkle the apple sauce with the oatmeal, then a little sprinkle of Cinnamon, pop in the microwave for 120 seconds... delicious, and you'll be losing weight, or maintaining your weight through the holiday feasts! :)

Look, I've made Applesauce look pretty!! lol!
Half a bowl of Apple Sauce

Pour the Apple Sauce into any bowl.. I like to use a pretty bowl -- it changes how you feel about whatever you're eating, but I'll use a normal cereal bowl if I'm having the Apple Crumble for lunch, or breakfast  (I think I am more likely to have the Apple Crumble for a mid-morning snack or lunch, sometimes a mid-afternoon snack... just fit it into your daily diet wherever you can, wherever you like it).

Sprinkle Oatmeal directly on the Apple Sauce, enough to cover it.  I find that if you put on too much oatmeal, it'll be dry, and it's nicer with more Apple Sauce than Oatmeal...

Now Sprinkle with a little Cinnamon.. remember that Cinnamon is fantastic for regulating your Blood Sugar (a Good Thing! lol!), and the oatmeal and apple sauce are great for fibre, and lowering your cholesterol, and the weight loss will lower your Blood Pressure, and you'll look and feel fantastic, too ... they're just really, really good whole foods, and your body will thank you for it! All that in one little bowl of Apple Crumble! : )

Ugh, I couldn't get the pictures in the order I wanted them in... this program kept moving them around... frustrating, but you're a smartie, I'm sure you'll figure it out, no bother! lol!  Good Luck, and Happy Feasting!!  Ailsa xox! : )

Oooh, I had to step up my porridge and apple crumble regimen over the past week (I've dropped 2.5" off my waist in this last week - this works so fast, and is so effective in keeping the weight off) - so I have the porridge for breakfast, and the applesauce/oatmeal/cinnamon for my mid-afternoon snack (seems like that's a bad time for me, when I'd rather have almost anything else that's fancy!! hahaha!  Ah, well.  You can still have anything else you like when you have lots of oatmeal in your diet - oatmeal will just 'carry it all away', if you know what I mean! lol!  Sorry!! I think the oatmeal goes through your system, finds little bits and pieces of fat, carries that away with it, too! 'Get on my back, fat, let's get outta here!!' That's the oatmeal speaking!!  hahaha!

Oh, and here's an extra little bonus when you make the porridge with salt that is iodized... that's a good source of iodine, which can be tricky to get, but, certainly, if you are on a low-salt diet, skip the slat, or if you are eating your porridge with brown sugar and cinnamon, skip the salt... I happen to love my porridge the Scottish way (reminds me of my Dad every time I have my porridge, because Daddy made the porridge on the weekends - a lovely childhood memory for me!)  So try the whole oatmeal thing - is worth a shot, and is oatmeal is fantastic for bringing down your cholesterol, and when you lose weight, that will bring your blood pressure down, too - see how great oatmeal is?! lol!    https://buildyourownhousebodylife.blogspot.ca/2012/04/scottish-porridge-eat-yer-oatmeal-lose.html

Tia wanted in on the fancy 'bear' action, too! haha!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO ALL MY SCAAAARY FIENDS OUT THERE!! Easy to make,

Last Minute Hallowe'en Costumes! Let's see, I've been a Hot Nurse, a Freudian Slip (my personal favorite, because I thought it was really, really funny... and you know I love to amuse myself, and then hope other will laugh with me, rather than just at me... although, truth be told, I'll take that, too! hahaha!) I love the idea of forcing your kid or 'smaller' friend to be the 'Jung'en'... oh, I'm full o' Bad Jokes like that! Anyway, those Costume Ideas are on my Hallowe'en page, for fun... and this year I am a Fortune Teller! I tell everyone what a great, highly successful life they gonna have! haha! And I'm sure they will, right?? The Power of Thought, Baby, the Power of Thought!

Our Low Prices! Better than their September free shipping at Costumes4less.com Costumes, Party Supplies, Lingerie, Shoes - for all Occasions!
I love a great Hallowe'en Costume -- my all-time favorite Costume was when I dressed up as a 'Freudian Slip'... I wore a Black Slip (you know, like the things you wear under a dress, but now you can get fabulous 'slips' at Frederick's that would be even nicer!) with a sign that said 'Freud' written on the front. Comfy and funny (and it looked good, too! ha,ha,ha!). Oooh, and don't forget the high heels and stockings -- and I'm just thinking this would be even funnier on a man! (That just makes me laugh, and I'm sitting here all by myself! ha,ha,ha!)

Hey, just came up with a great idea if you are going out for Hallowe'en with your kid, or a smaller &/or younger friend... have the smaller person dress like a child (if they already are a kid, all the faster!), and put a sign on them that says, "Jung' ian" or just "Jung' en", depending on how far down in the Deep South you is... ha,ha! Oh, your Psychology Majors will laugh and laugh, then continue to drink, no doubt!

You know what else I thought might be a fun costume to put together? I thought about going to School (it has to be a 'Work-Friendly' Costume, unlike my Wonder Woman Costume for later...! ha,ha!) as an Emotional Wreck. Heart on my Sleeve (she wears her heart on her sleeve...), tears cut out of blue paper or material and placed generally all over... a heart, broken in two, taped on your back... maybe some electrodes for your head, just for fun (shock therapy). You get the drift. Might still do this one at work... must try on the Wonder Woman Costume to see how short it is... maybe I could modify it for 'daytime use'?? ha,ha,ha!

Halloween: 2007. Okay, so this year, I'm gonna be a "Bee-Otch". I know, I can hear you through the computer, you know, and that is a slight change for me, in that this time I'll be wearing real wings, and not just acting the part! hahaha! (I'm just makng myself laugh, now -- all giddy at being up really late, still working on my site!) My lovely Daughter, Cara, went out and bought some Bee Wings and the matching Antennae, so as soon as I saw it, I squealed, like I am want to do, (and not like a pig, as some would expect...), "Ooooh, I wanta be a Bee-Otch!" So that's how that was born. I'm gonna wear the Bee wings and the Antennae, then make myself a big medallion that says 'Otch'. Only the sharpest peoples in da crowd will get it, after lots of drunken (I can only hope!) explaining on my part, when I show off my costume!

Hey,I was a Cat Woman, one year! Funny story attached to that! hahaha!

I always get the Amazon.com Gift Certificates, especially for Family and Friends who live further away. (An oldie but a goodie, this is an easy, inexpensive and super-sexy Costume Idea... ) Sunday, October 7th, 2006. Oh, hey. I bought a new Hallowe'en Costume, this year (last year..). I was gonna go as a Freudian Slip, since I think that's really funny (Black sexy slip with Freud written across it... fun and funny, much like meself! ha,ha,ha!). I happened upon a Wonder Woman Costume, and really, that's perfect for me, what wit' da Thigh High Boots, 'n all... maybe I can get a picture of that to put on the site... wish me luck finding the right wires, which you know I struggle with!

Sexy Halloween Costumes and a Giant Shoe Sale! WooHoo!!
(Hope these links are still live... all these different stores have been sneakily chaning their ads and links.. very annoying.. will check this later, or let me know, if you find something that needs to be updated... or just straight-out removed : )

ElectriqueBoutique.com has an enormous selection of very sexy costumes, and stuff you can put together to make your own extra-unique costume... and they are having the largest Shoe Sale sale of the season on select brands of shoes, such as Soda and Classified. Their warehouse is full and they are slashing prices to make room. That's right, they are letting these cuties go for only $9.99 a pair! And you know I'm a bit of a shoe freak! Oooh, I just went in to see what I want to buy, and they have a pair of White GoGo Boots for $9.99WooHoo! Now there's a cheap way to find out how your life would change if you just owned a pair of GoGo Boots, right?? hahaha! And Strappy Sandals like you wouldn't believe, and all for $9.99 or less... yippee!

I've bought a lot of fabulous stuff from ElectriqueBoutique.com over the years, and they are exceptionally easy to work with online.(Check out their Sexy Outfits, too!) And their shoes and boots fit like a dream! I think I've bought three pairs of their Thigh High Boots, and they all fit perfectly! Now's the time to give that a try, if you haven't got some sitting in your closet, right now! haha!Electrique Boutique

Find sexy costumes for Halloween at great prices!
Oh, let me update you on the Wonder Woman Costume... it was hideous on a whole new level that you might not have known existed... hilarious, though. Cara and I laughed and laughed and laughed, it was just that bad, and of course Cara took a million pictures of me looking all terrible, 'n all. The 'Thigh High Wonder Woman Boots' were like giant socks that fall down to your ankles the second you take a step, and before you know it, you've got yerself some 'Grade One Socks'... I used to teach Grade One, and the kids invariably would have their little socks hanging down around the middle of their feet, completely unnoticed... funny! Anyhooo, this Wonder Woman Outfit was just God-Awful. They have some great ones out there... if you're going in the Wonder Woman direction for your costume, this year, just get the sexiest one you can find, and wear your own thigh high boots! (I'm assuming you have yer own, or are actively looking for a pair, right now! haha!) Here's the deal: You can't go wrong with insanely sexy, 'cause, really, no one will care if it's perfect or not, if you're lookin' all Hot 'n all, right?? You gonna wear it, you gotta own it!

Hallowe'en is all about the Sexy Costumes with the Adult Crowd, to be sure. It's either Sexy Costumes, or Creepy Costumes... and sometimes (come on, now.. we've all seen it!), there's a terrible cross-over and someone who is trying their very, very bestest to be sexy is just down right creepy. You know what I'm talkin' about! hahaha! That's when you know they are waiting, desperately, for you to say how incredibly sexy they look, and you say, "Hey, there, You. You, you, you. Wow. That is quite a costume! Hmmmm. Yep." Then you gotta turn and run, and hope to God they're not faster than you (and that you don't spill your drink while you is runnin'! hahaha!).

Aidan used to love wearing animal costumes at Hallowe'en... now it's all about the Power Rangers and Ninjas, so if you have children small enough that they can still be 'manipulated' into these cute little costumes, go for it and take lots of pictures! I think you can scroll down this Halloween page to see some pictures of Aidan in a white bear suit ... I think he was about 3 or 4 for that outfit!Very cute!

Amazon has an incredible selection of Costumes, so type in what you're after and see what comes up!

I woke up this morning (okay, this was a morning God-Knows when, but good story, so I'm leavin' it in!) with a great new idea for another funny costume -- you could go as a Weasel, wearing a Suit and carrying a Briefcase (for your candies, or full of candies you could give out, depending on how old you are and your level of access to bags and bags of candies!). Guess who you'd be? That's right, a Hollywood Agent! Maybe you could have a Contract you could whip out... and a vial of Red Ink -- that's be the 'Sign Here in Blood part of the Contract -- that's the really legally binding part! ha,ha,ha! (Okay, now this is for my own amusement!)

Anyway, you'd need to paint your nose Black, and try to make your face look 'furry' with makeup or backwards brown wig..., put something furry at your neck and wrists. Kids could wear a parent's Suit Jacket (remember, I'm pretty sure there are plenty of female Hollywood Agents, too...), or pick up a cheap suit at a Second Hand Store. They're great places to find unique Costumes. You might have to let people in on what you are, but they'll laugh and laugh, and then your Hallowe'en will be even more fun!

Now you've got your sexy costume, so what's next on yer list?? Sexy Lips! This looks like fun... and it appears to be very safe... it comes from a reliable source, so definitely worth checking out for a bit of fun! Maybe this'll turn out to be a brand new look for you -- who knows??

I know, some folks don't like dressing up their dogs, but it is a lot of fun , and they're soooo cute! One year for Hallowe'en, we dressed our wee dog, Tia, up as Cara's Agent, and that was very entertaining -- mostly for us!

Who doesn't love a Baby Costume?? Aidan's been a Baby Bear, a Panda, a Polar Bear (can you see a trend in the early years?), and this year I got him the Red Power Ranger's Costume. They have some amazing Girls' costumes, too, this year. Cara and I saw some lovely Disney Dresses lots of wee girls would love!

Here are a couple of my favorite Hallowe'en Costumes over the years... Aidan loves to buy the costumes, but when it comes time to actually put the costume on, it's a whole other story. I always have to have a 'back-up' costume I can throw over his coat, since, invariably, it starts to snow just on your way out to go Trick-or-Treating! Oh, Canada. How cold and harsh you are... I think those are the first few words of the Canadian National Anthem...

 - Soo cute!!  See Tia, our sweet little dog? She loves to check out Aidan -- a little smell here, a wee sniff there... Aidan's 8, now, (Okay, now he's 16 - that's how long I've been writing on mah' site and blog! lol!) and just as cute as ever! His Costume Plan for this year is to be the White Power Ranger, on account 'a it comes with a fancy Gold and White Sword! hahaha!

Happy Hallowe'en!! Ailsa! xoxo

#Halloween #HalloweenAtDisneyland - WooHooo!! Oooh, and the CANDY!! You're gonna love it! : > #Costumes #Disneyland

Happy Halloween!

Halloween At Disneyland - Sooo Much Fun! And Candy!! : )
Captain Cook checking out my 'roses'! lol! That's what they say about Captain Hook - you know, he used to be very handsy, but now only half as much... buh'dum-bum!

Oh, my goodness, soo much crazy fun! Laugh your way through it, then go home and eat candy for weeks after - now that's a Happily Ever After I can get behind! hahaha!

Halloween at Disneyland is THE most fun thing we have ever done for Halloween!! We left about 3:30pm from Culver City to get down to Anaheim for around 4pm... we had heard there might be a bit of a line up, so we planned it so we would be close to the front of the line for when they started letting the 'Halloween Crowd' into the park.  Good planning, because, man, were there ever a lot of people, all dressed up in fantastic costumes... was so much fun just to see all those people... my favorite was a 6'5" guy, very manly looking, wearing a Raggedy Ann costume, and his wife was wearing Raggedy Andy -- now you know they must have a lot of laughs at home! lol!

Buy any costume at BuyCostumes for $15+ and get a FREE Deluxe Elsa costume What an amazing deal, right?? Love it! : )

I was a Flower Fairy... anything to grant wishes to anyone who wants them! haha!  Dat my thing, granting wishes!!

It was soo much fun, though, doing the whole Disney Experience at Halloween... all the characters were out in full dress costume, so you could get your picture taken with them all... so much fun!

The whole Disneyland park is set up for Halloween, so very cool Halloween decorations everywhere, and then they started the 'Candy Stations'... for free (well, included in the price of your ticket! lol!), but was sooo much fun -- you get in a line up, and go from booth to booth, collecting all sorts of Halloween Candy... they had one side of each booth with 'healthy snacks' (raisins, dried cranberries, apple chips...all sorts of yummy things), and the other side of each Candy Station was my favorite side, they had the 'good candies'.... Ghiraldies Chocolates (soooo delicious!), then all sorts of treat size chocolate bars, jelly beans, gummies, you name it, it was great!  We left with massive amounts of candy!  I'm not sure how much cranberry raisin bread I made form all those packets of cranberries and raisins... oh, and I made a ton of trail mix, too, since I like to mix those little bags of cranberries and raisins in with mixed nuts and a few chocolate chips... yum!

At the Disneyland Entrance!
We loved Halloween at Disneyland because you have lots of time when they first let you through the gates for the Halloween Celebration to go around the whole park, and go on lots of rides... my favorite ride is the little boat ride with the miniature Fairy Tale Villages... very cute!  I'm not sure why I love the boat ride the most, but I do!!

Ailsa (dat me!!) in the Princess Area -- think I belong here! lol!

Everyone's in a great mood, happy to chat with one another, and the parade is hilarious, as always, but with a nice Halloween twist...my lovely daughter, Cara, loved the Princess area, and we have some hilarious pictures of Cara with the Wicked Witch, since Cara was dressed as Snow White.... so funny! I've gotta find those pics for you! I'll post them as soon as I find them! lol!

Snow white Cara and her Nemesis, the Wicked Witch, who was hilarious!

Absolutely, Halloween at Disneyland is a great bang for your buck, too.  The cost is very reasonable, and you'll be creating Great Family Memories forever.. and if you're dating, man, what a great date that would be!! And we stayed until the park closed... was so much fun!! I'll have to go through my pictures on my other computer and put them up for you to see... but Halloween at Disneyland is definitely something I would put on my Bucket List, if it isn't on there, already... and Christmas at Disneyland, too!!  Clearly, we are big Disney Fans!!
