#Bridalplasty... Will the Cutting Fun Never End?? lol! #Weddings #Marriage

Oh, Bridal Plasty, my favorite new show... your girls are so crazy, and that's my favorite kind of girl!  I love Kristen... is that her name?  The fatty one with the new boobs the size of balloons, that just make her look fatter... really, giant fake breasts only look good on super-skinny girls, otherwise, you just look fattier than ever... and I don't hear a whole lot about the girls slimming down, naturally.  "What can you surgically remove??  MmmmHmmm.... and what can you surgically enhance???  Okay, I'm jus' gonna finish these chocolate cakes, the liverwurst, some good wine and some wine WITH DIRT IN IT (hilaaarious!!) , and I'll be right there.... dinny start without me!!"  What's not to love about these girls?? hahaha!

So when these poor girls come back from surgery (which I have to cover my whole face from, and only slightly peer at the very top of the TV screen until that gross part is done... yick!!), don't they look super-sore?  It looks phenomenally painful.  I ask, again, where are all the painkillers?  Why does everyone want to have the same nose?  And giant boobs??  For a man you are already engaged to... makes no sense to me, and I want to know, how do you breastfeed after you've had breast enhancement surgery??  For real, I really want to know that... I am a major advocate for breastfeeding (nursing, for the more prudish out there... lol!)(but then you're probably not watching Bridal Plasty, since the girls, Janessa and Kristen, are in the bathroom, showing each other their breasts... before and after.... which reminded me of a girl I used to know, who got herself some new breasts, and just could not keep them in her shirt... every chance she got, she'd whip 'em out.. was hilarious!  Ah, my twenties... those were some crazy days!! hahahaha!)(You know what's really funny, I cannot remember that girl's name, not for the life of me, but I remember every party I was at where she showed her newly purchased chest! hahaha!)

Aaaaw, soo cute!  Now there's what breasts are for!  Fun for the Dad, too...

Wouldn't this be an easier way to go, with a seriously strong push-up bra?? hahaha!  Okay, I just put that first on on there for a laugh, but wouldn't that be hilarious to wear??  You'd be huuuge!  Hugely popular!! lol! Go wear it to the bar, see what happens...

Okay, I'm just being silly, now -- in my defense, it's really late... 2:45am, but I'm on vacation, so who cares how late I stay up, right?? One of the few upsides of being single... or one of the downsides, depending on how you look at that... maybe I should get one o' dose push-up bras... noooo, I don't need it!

Here it is!!  It's little, but I'm not! lol!  Soo silly, tonight!! ;)

http://buildyourownhousebodylife.blogspot.com/p/diet.html
Dang it, this isn't the photo I was searching for... but that is me... in Vegas... I was trying to find a 'busty' picture, for a laugh... I'll have to look for it, tomorrow.  I know it comes up on my Google account when I post a message on my daughter, Cara's blog, http://bitchycraft.blogspot.com/ ...
well, there must be a way I can get that on me own blog, right??
Okay, now my margins look like they've been 'surgically altered', and I'm too tired to figure that out, too!  G'night!! Ailsa xox

I hope you're having THE best week, ever! Ailsa : )

Survivor Nicaragua Season Finale: Fabio Won the Million Dollars! Yipppeee!

Yippeee!! Fabio won on Survivor, tonight! We wanted Fabio (Judd) to win sooo badly (we cheered whenever he won immunity , then we really cheered when Fabio won the million dollars, and we did not want to see Sash win, he was such a snake-in-the-grass on Survivor Nicaragua... ... but man, were you surprised by how good Sash looked at the Los Angeles CBS Studio?? Shocking! We thought it was really funny, how some contestants looked better on Survivor, out in the middle of nowhere, than they did all cleaned up on a sound set... I liked Fabio waaay better in Nicaragua, with the nice long hair, rather than the pseudo-Justin Beiber haircut, tonight... lol! (Which reminds me of the Justin Beiber doll that Andy Cohen has behind him of his Aftershow with the Housewives of Beverly Hills, one of my other favorite shows... Andy has his Justin Beiber doll dressed in a pink designer wrap dress... very funny!)

We were really happy to see Chase win the Runner up money ($100,000, right?), and Jane to win the Viewer's choice money, another $100,000.  I like the way Survivor gives each contestant some money... that's only right, after all that entertaining TV! lol!  But what I really wanted to know, tonight, was how old was Jane, really??  I had said to Cara, my lovely daughter (we got into Survivor when Cara was in Grade 6 -- she's 22, now! lol!), "Wow, Jane did really well for a 73 year old".  And Cara laughs really hard and says she thinks she must be closer to MY age, since her daughter is about the same age as herself ... (oh, and that's how we always remembered how to spell 'NiCARAgua', since Cara's name was right in the middle of it! haha!).

So I said to Cara, how old did she think Jane was.. she says in her 50's.  I relented and said maybe she's in her 60's.... she looked soo weather worn.  So, of course, I Googled it, and turns out, Cara was right ... Jane is 56.  Wow.  That's only 9 years older than me.  Shocking.  Is that from smoking and too much sun damage?  What makes one person look really old, and another not-so-old, me wonders?  Delusion?? hahaha! (Otay, that little joke's just for me!! hahaha! You know I'm laughing, now... I loove delusion... can you imagine how horrible my life would look if I didn't have my rose coloured glasses on all the time?? lol!)  So, sorry, Jane, if you ever happen to read this... she looked good on the show, tonight, though... but still no love from Marty... I wonder how close in age those two were... maybe she was hitting on him, and he rejected her, right at the beginning....

Did you see that idiot, Shannon, when Jeff Probst, who is sooooo handsome (!) tried to give him an opportunity to not be such a full-on jerk, but Shannon just confirmed what everyone already thought -- ugh.

And I looved Jimmy Johnson... he's soo cute!  I wish he had stayed on Survivor way longer, he was soo nice to everyone, and so smart.  You know what's really funny?  The Season Finale of Survivor is like the Superbowl for us! haha!  Except I can follow along waaay easier!  (Less beer, probably.... and greater interest!)  But I loved that Jimmy Johnson loved football AND Survivor... see how confident he is in his manhood??

You know who I couldn't stand, tonight?  No, not just NaOnka.  I still do not believe she is a real teacher, even if she did make mention of her 'principals' at the many schools where she teaches, because remember I looked her up under the California Commission of Teacher Credentials, and she wasn't there... not possible in California.  Unless maybe she's working for a little private school... and when she said ONE of the parents said they didn't want their kid in her class... right.  Except that there are a surprising number of truly horrible people who end up in the Teaching field, unfortunately, and she's maybe more common than we might like to think... see the problem with the educational system, now?  I hope it's not like this in the rest of America... maybe it's more likely to exist in L.A. I know I've run into more than my fair share of jerks, here.. many of them in schools.

No, the one I hated the most, tonight, was that little full-of-herself Alina.  Ugh.  She wouldn't let Fabio speak in Tribal Council, because she wanted a 'real man' to talk... yuck.  She looked like she was twelve... yick.  There was something really grating about her personality... and then she was all clingy with Fabio after he won the million dollars... gaaaah.  I hate that.

I really, really liked Dan.  He seemed like such a great guy, and he cared about Fabio so much... very sweet.  No wonder his sons love him like crazy... and very sweet for Holly to bring Dan a nice pair of cowboy boots.. hilarious! And Holly looked great! It's craaazy how different someone can look with a little make up and clean hair!! haha!

Okay, I gotta go write about Bridal Plasty... what a great Sunday night for TV, since it's been raining like crazy here in Los Angeles for 4 straight days.. and it's supposed to keep raining for another three days... unheard of for us!  I heard on the news, tonight, it's the sstorm of the decade... funny I didn't hear that term, last week...  It's been great, though, we haven't even left the house... just reading, working on the computer, watching TV and movies... is great!! Very relaxing, so I say, 'Let it rain!' We'll swim, next week! lol!

Hope you're having a nice, dry, day!  Or you're in from the rain and snow! See you soon! Ailsa xox

Here's what I'm reading, right now - this is a good week to have a few laughs, wait it out a bit, see what happens (I think, a lot of Good Things, but, you know how I am, better to stay on the Bright Side - seems like a better choice - lol!)

Oooh, I'ma just about to start reading Crazy Rich Asians, by Kevin Kwan - man, why did I think that was written by a woman? Wam excited to start reading Crazy Rich Asians - my lovely daughter brought all three books in the series (so far!) over for me to read - so, if you're looking it up, say, on Amazon (and, again, thank you soo much for buying through me - you' da bestiest reader, ever! lol!), here are the first three books in the series of Crazy Rich Asians, by Kevin Kwan ~

Yay!! Ooh, I just remembered - I just read a new-to-me author, soo good! Not for the faint of heart, but, that's what I like, anyway - lol! I remember it because I kept saying, Grant Grinder - haha! 📖📚🔖

@AilsaForshaw (That's me, baby! Follow Me on da Twitter! lol!)

Right now I am completely obsessed with the Andy Cohen Diaries - all of them - lol! They're great - What a LIFE, in giant capital letters - lol!
Superficial: More Adventures from the Andy Cohen Diaries
The Andy Cohen Diaries: A Deep Look at a Shallow Year
Most Talkative: Stories from the Front Lines of Pop Culture

Andy Cohen - such a cheery guy! Always so funny - m'fave! lol!

I just finished Alan Alda's new book, If I Understood You, Would I Have This Look On My Face? I love it! It's so smart, and I'm getting so much out of it - soo many great ideas, so many great lines - my fave, right now, is this question:

What do YOU think is causing the problem?

That's brilliant, right? You could pose that question in any situation, medically, personally, work-wise, in a couple, between a parent and a child - or a child and their parent - you get the idea - but what a great way to really see the other person's perspective....

I'm loving this book! I'll write more about it as I read more - and I'm practicing the Improv line, Yes And, all the time, now - whenever I think of it! Even in our driving lessons, if there's room for improvement, I say to my son, Okay, Yes And... what can you do to drive smoothly, or relax more behind the wheel... so, we're using these little tools, as we go! Yahoo, New Tools! : ) Thanks, Alan Alda! lol!

***
Anyway, I'm half-reading/mostly laughing, at Dave Barry's Dave Barry Hits Below the Beltway... omg, Dave Barry is endlessly funny, every single book, laugh out loud funny (before lol even existed, that kind of funny - haha, or, lol!)

Dave Barry wrote this book, Dave Barry Hits Below The Beltway, in 2002, and you'd swear (because you've got a point to make, dammit! lol!) he'd just written it, yesterday... Dave Barry is like The Simpsons - timeless, endlessly funny, uh, snortable humor, maybe? haha!

I love ALL the Dave Barry books - scroll down, you'll find a ton more, a little further down the page - so many books, so many laughs! : )

 I really, really loved
The Rainbow Comes and Goes: A Mother and Son On Life, Love, and Loss, Anderson Cooper's new book - was an amazing read, start to finish - beautiful, amazing - what an incredible life Anderson Cooper's Mom lived - and is still living - wow, 93! I didn't think I would just learn so much from it, though - what a great surprise - I thought it would be a great book, but now I would put this at the top of my list, not just for Good Reads, but for Great Reads - you'll love it, is amazing! : )

Stephen Colbert - omg, soo funny! I loove Stephen Colbert, on any day, but, man, Stephen Colbert's America Again, Re-Becoming the Greatness We Never Weren't - hilllarious! My son can hear me laughing a couple of rooms away - it's just that funny - me yuv!

So, I just finished The Testing - a very good, fast, read - if you like Scifi, Dystopian Society, Hunger Games sort of book, you'll really enjoy The Testing, by Joelle Charbonneau - man, that would make a great movie, so now I'm racking mah' brain, thinking of who would be great in the lead role of Cia? And what about her love interest (one of them! Oooh... lol!), Tomas, or Will? Hmmm, must tinks about that! lol!

Omg, now I've just finished the second book in the Trilogy, #IndependentStudy - A'holy schmokes, is that ever a crazy-great read! You are a'gonna looove it! Clear your schedule, baby, get down to some really fun reading!

And here are the rest of the books in the Trilogy, since, once you've read one, you gots'ta read them all, am I right? haha! they're like Pringles, you can't just stop at one : )

Omg, holy a'schmoly, I cannot put this book down - Judy Blume's,  In the Unlikely Event - you will looove it! If you grew up reading Judy Blume, you will have very, very fond memories of Judy' Blume's, Are You There God, It's Me, MargaretAre You There God? It's Me, Margaret. .

Oh, man, I can only write for a minute, because I want to get riight back to Judy Blume's new book, In The Unlikely Event.  It's written in one of my favorite styles, where there character's name is at the top, and then you go on into their lives... ooh, I loove that style! Is the BEST! You get to know the characters so well, you really care about all the characters - and it's very deep into each person's life, and I love that... no playin' around with Judy Blume - you're in deep, right from the start - yaaaassss!! The Best! I loove when you find a new book you just can't put down! : )

Wait, how cool is this? Did you know you could buy from Cal State online? Who knew? (Everyone but me? hahaha!) Shop the Cal State Fullerton bookstore today!

There's nothing nicer than getting yourself a nice hot cup of tea, maybe some chocolates, or a glass of a'sumthin' 'special', and currying in for a great read - is so much fun! And when you find a book that really speaks to your soul, or makes you laugh out loud, or makes you feel like you're living THEIR life...wow, is like a little miracle!
I really like these Adult Coloring Books, too - a little Art therapy is a wonderful thing - I am always working on a new Art Project, and looove creating something lovely (I just made some gorgeous little Butterfly Ornaments for the Christmas Tree - they're soo pretty! I'll go take a quick pic... lol!)

Can you see the little Butterflies? So cute, right? I calls it, Dollar Store Art - lol! You can get these cute little butterflies at the Dollar Store, or any craft store, and I just glued them onto these very fancy little curly-cue Ornament Hooks - who knew? I was just looking at the new little package of Ornament Hooks, they were so pretty, and I happened to already have some little butterflies, since I'm working on a new Art Project with little butterflies... that'll be pretty, to, but now I loove the little Butterfly Ornaments - so cute! I just made them, tonight, put them on the Tree : )

Art is a fantastic thing, too, if you are teaching, and want some great stuff for your students to do, at any age, if you like to have a table in your classroom with extra work to do, things the kids can work on as a treat, a reward, if they have to stay in for recess, or any other reason... and you want or need them to be quiet... this works.

Art Therapy is wonderful for everyone - if you want someone to gently open up about what is on their mind, Art Therapy is very nice for that, and people are more likely to chat, or say something significant, if they are working quietly on something, feel relaxed and comfortable, and know they are in a safe space... this type of coloring will really work for that - would be a great thing to just have these Adult Coloring Books in the break rooms at work, let people really just relax, enjoy themselves.
I'm right in the middle (almost at the end - right after I post this, I'm going right back to my fave new Whoopi Goldberg book, If Someone Says "You Complete Me", RUN - lol! Love it, lots of very good and very frank talk aobut you and relationships, and all sorts of things you'll really enjoy - I started, AFTER I turned the TV off, last night, (so, 1:30am) thinking, well, I'll just have a quick look at the list of chapters, then I thought, oooh, I'll just have a quick look at Chapter 8, Red Flags - you know THAT appealed to me - hahaha! Anyway, I had to force myself to stop reading before I finished the whole bed, so I could 'save some' for tonight - lol!

That's the sign of a really great book, when you intentionally make yourself put the book down, so you can save it for later, so you can divide up all the fun of a great book - lol! : )

Aaawww, I juust finished reading Carl Reiner's Enter Laughing - so sweet, so wonderful... it's like a trip down memory lane, and right to the theatre... the whole story of Carl Reiner's foray into the whole world of Acting - amazing, what a great book! And of course I love Carl Reiner and Mel Brook's, The 2,000 Year Old Man - hi-larious! I am crazy-in-love with the 2,000 Year Old Man's Diet - hahaha! Is so funny! Napkin Rings Optional - hahaha! You'll love it - sweet, funny, fantastic!

Shop Gifts Under $10 from See's Candies!Create your own Custom Chocolate Mix at See's Candies!  Oooh, and here come the BEST Chocolates in the world -  I loove Sees Candies - soo deeelish! The Walnut Squares (#43 - is it bad for me to know the number?? hahahahaha!) (I've got your number..oooh, is it #43??  I hope so! lol!) Ooh, and I see that Sees has a sale, right now, Take $4 off of $20? Yahoo! Sale Chocolate - yes, please! haha! Yum! Don't mind if ah' do...lol! : )

Hot Toddy : )
I always love a comfy and pretty place to read... and, for parents, I think it's very good for your children to see you happily enjoying your books, so they can see how much fun it is to read, too : )

So, I started putting this list of some of my favourite Books to Read (or thumb through, if you're not reading them?? haha! Silly! lol!), and my page looked soo nice, then amazon made a change in their policy, or something, and only left the Text Links (where you can pop into Amazon to buy the books) live, but took out the 'banner ads', my favourite ads with the pictures of the books.. and I really liked the pictures - made it soo easy to just scroll through, see something that appeals to you, go in and get it, or have a wee look, order it from your local library (I'm hoping all your libraries have effective and useful sites, so you can just login with your library card, order any book that appeals to you : )

Anyway, so those ads went down, and it took me ages to remove them, because the html code for the ads was embedded in the html code for the whole page - was a whole thing... annoying, and far too time-consuming, and I have no idea what real purpose that served for Amazon...

So now I will have to go back into Amazon to get the new banner ads, the picture ads, but that is soo time-consuming... so I switched over to Barnes and Noble, and put they're ads in, too... at least you can compare prices... that's what everyone does, now - is the only logical thing to do, right? lol!

Okay, well, here you go... I'll ad new things in as I go! I'm a Reader, so I'm constantly reading new books, finding great new books, and always on the lookout for a great new read! Let me know if you have any suggestions, too! Tell us all your fave books - we want to know! lol!

First, Learn to Read... hahaha! Get your kids reading, early... they'll love it, you'll love it, and then you can cuddle up on the couch together, with some good books!

About Reading Eggs: The Reading Eggs program has been developed by a highly experienced team of teachers, educational writers, animators and web developers. Reading Eggs focuses on a core reading curriculum of skills and strategies essential for sustained reading success and is suitable for children aged 3 through 13. (I would see if it is useful in my Special Education Classroom, too, as long as it is age-appropriate, as the child/student, gets older... age-appropriateness is essential to learning any new skill or idea : ) Since launching in the United States and Canada in 2010, Reading Eggs has signed on more than 3.4 million users. That's a lot of New Readers - lol!

I OTTER be Reading! hahaha!

I am a little unsure how I feel about the new Harper Lee, Go Set A Watchman, because I love Atticus Finch, the way he was, and the way he lives in my memory, but, I think it will be  a very interesting read, and, at the very least, will spark a lot of conversation.

So, I finally got around to reading Harper Lee's 'new' book, Go Set a Watchman - couldn't do it - one, turned off on the first page, thought, okay, it's time-framed, tried to keep reading - seemed overly pretentious, or something - and annoying, maybe? I don't know - I didn't like it, and now I don't feel compelled to finish a book, just because I started it, like I would've done when I was younger.. I dunno - I think, I didn't want it to sully how I felt about Atticus Finch, you know? So, read it if you are curious, too, and let me know if it got better... admittedly, I didn't get very far before I put it down... hmmm. I can't risk that level of disappointment...

I love Louise Hay, she is soo brilliant!  Amazing!  All so lovely,
you'll smile all day - and night, before, during and after reading her wonderful books : )

Last year, my new favorite books were all the Joel Osteen Books - no kidding, every single one of his books is amazing!  I love them all!  Joel Osteen is so uplifting, so brilliant in his approach to life, and such a great writer - open, honest, caring, loving - man, I just can't say enough good things about Joel Osteen's books! lol!  These fantastic books would make beautiful Christmas Presents, but, man-oh-man, I would love to see Break Out, and all of Joel Osteen's books in every high school, every college... this is information kids need to hear, and everyone else, too. Words of encouragement, words to make your whole life better. I'd like to see courses built up around these books, teach these lessons to all our kids (and ourselves! lol!). : )

This year, I have so many great books that I am soo loving - Louise L. Hay books - every one of them - incredible, I feel so blessed just to have found Louise Hay - who knew?  Louise Hay has been writing these beautiful little books since 1984, and I've just discovered Louise, now, but any time you discover Louise Hay is a GOOD time to discover Louise Hay, right?  lol!  Beautiful books, wonderful message, this is change-your-life stuff, which, I, of course, looove!

And my lovely daughter, Cara, gave me a copy of Graeme Simsion's, The Rosie Project, and then, as soon as it came out, The Rosie Effect - oh, man, did we ever love these hilarious and beautiful books, too - what a year for reading, eh?? Yippee!  New stuff!  Or, maybe more accurately, new-to-me! lol!  http://buildyourownhousebodylife.blogspot.ca/2014/08/blog-post.html

I love giving Books as a gift (not only to myself, but sometimes I give gifts to others, too! lol!) -- right up there with a Box of Chocolates! In fact, I love to give my female friends, in particular, a Great Novel and a big Box of Chocolates My most recent favorite reads!

Lena Dunham's 'new' book - so good, I really like the way she writes.. very true-to-herself, you know? Lena Dunham's NOT THAT KIND OF GIRL.

http://buildyourownhousebodylife.blogspot.ca/2015/07/lena-dunhams-new-book-not-that-kind-of.html

Beyond the Secret - a gentler, perhaps kinder, version of The Secret - I loved it, adn use the 'Genie is here and he wants to grant you 5 Wishes - quick, what are they?' and then you say, out loud or in your head, the 5 things you most wish for... is a very, very, interesting exercise, and might just change your life! Good, right?? lol!http://buildyourownhousebodylife.blogspot.ca/2013/03/beyond-secret-very-interesting-and.html

The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry This was such a beautiful book - I highly recommend it.  So lovely, so kind : ) http://buildyourownhousebodylife.blogspot.ca/2013/03/the-unlikely-pigrimage-of-harold-fry.html

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society This was such a surprise, and a really wonderful surprise... I found it on the 'Staff Choice' section at the library, and just loved this beautiful book.  You'll enjoy how the name 'The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society' came to be - lots of twists you wouldn't expect, lots of love, so lovely! A wonderful read : ) http://buildyourownhousebodylife.blogspot.ca/2012/11/the-guernsey-literary-and-potato-peel.html

I love everything written by Wally Lamb - he can do no wrong... Wally Lamb is a brilliant writer, you're swept up in his stories from beginning to end, and you know when you're reading a really good book, and you try to read the last wee bit a little bit slower, so it doesn't have to end, you can't bear to let go of the characters, yet?  That's Wally Lamb. You'll read it at the beach, at home, anywhere you think you might have a few minutes..that might turn into hours! lol!  Happy Reading!
http://buildyourownhousebodylife.blogspot.ca/2014/03/we-are-water-by-wally-lamb-wow-what-read.html

This link to Barnes and Noble will take you right to the Wally Lamb Collection - amazing, so great, you'll love them all! : )

My favorite new Book Series is the Pitticus Lore, I Am Number Four, The Power of Six, and The Rise of Nine Series. Want some reading time where you just disappear into another world?? haha! Well, this is it, and it's ageless... my 13 year old son, Aidan, loves these books, my 24 year old daughter, Cara, she loves the I Am Number Four Book series..., and 49 year old ME, I love these books!! lol! See, they're for everyone!!

Take $10 Off on Your Purchase! Shop BN.com! (I hope that link is true - I feel like that should've been Take $10 off your purchase of $100, but... hmmm... that's how it was written... hmmm... Okay, this link will take you straight to I Am Number Four, and there is a huuge series by Pitticus Lore (You will loove who 'Pitticus Lore' is.....ooohh!!)

I canny be bothered with this business of 'Age-Labeling' any books... read whatever you want to read, right? Yep! Dat right! lol!

Well, I was trying to find the direct ad for Pitticus Lore, I Am Number Four, The Power of Six, and The Rise of Nine Series, because I have to go in and replace all the older Amazon ads - soo much work! Booo!! What was the real point in that? Massive waste of my time... boooo! There's no good reason for the ads to go dead.. for what purpose?? Annoying. And sooo much work! Booooo!!

Anyway, lookie what me found for you, when I was a'tryin' to switch over to Barnes and Noble... lol! Yay, Star Wars! : )

And now I love to give a Set of Magazine Subscriptions to both my Male and Female Friends, because you can 'cover a lot of territory' with Magazines. It's fun to get stuff in the Mail, and when one of your Favorite Magazines arrive, you can go get yourself a nice drink and sit down for a relaxing wee read.

(Same thing as above, I'm working on replacing the old amazon ads... hmmm... but here's some lovely Fruit Bouquets for you to look at! lol!) Enjoy 15% off select fresh fruit arrangements from FruitBouquets.com! Use code: TASTE15

Tea is my choice of 'Tasty Drink', but who am I to stop you from imbibing in something a wee bit stronger?? haha!

I just finished reading The Memory of Running, by Ron McLarty, a brilliant book I had heard about on one of my favorite HBO shows, In Treatment, when Paul, played by the most handsome Irish actor, Gabriel Byrne, mentions it at the door of his new therapist, Adele, when he is realizing they have a very special connection, and 'Paul' is sooo smart, I immediately wanted to read The Memory of Running, too.... yes, that is exactly what I'm like!  You're smart and there's a book you love??  Then I want to read it, too!! lol!  You think it's funny?  Then I want to see if it's funny, too! I'm deep like that! haha!

Hey, check it out... Ron McLarty has another book, Traveler -- I'm gonna get it, but if you've already read it, let me know what you think! :)

Handsome, right??  And sooo smart!  My favorite characteristics in a good man! lol!

I am a huuge John Irving fan.. I love his work. I love a long, intricate story... and I just read a review of a new John Irving novel, Last Night in Twisted River: A Novel, so I canny wait to get my hands on that!  I love a great read!  I love to sit out on my balcony, in the sun, look at the trees and sky, and have a wee cup of tea and a great long read... that's my idea of a great day!  (Hopefully interrupted by a swim or a walk on the beach!)

THIS Beach?? lol! San Diego - so pretty! : )

Season One, Season Two, and Season Three, Season 4 ... not a book, but very literary, none-the-less... if you enjoy a good novel, this show will really appeal to you :)

OMG, we have just recently discovered Mad Men, and man-oh-man, is it good! We canny get enough of it! Cara (my lovely 22 year old daughter) picked up Season One of Mad Men at Target a while back, and we were sooo enthralled by it, that we immediately went on Amazon to order the next Seasons, and now we just can't stop watching it -- we just did an 6 hour marathon of Mad Men -- what a great way to spend a Saturday! lol!

It's funny, I've really never heard anyone say anything about it, but we were watching the Emmy's, because we looove Jimmy Fallon, and there was Jon Hamm right there doing the opening number with him, the Mad Men wins, AGAIN, so when Cara saw it for sale, she picked it up, we thought we'd give it a try, and now we are full-on Mad Men addicts! And not ashamed to admit it! haha! We just can't wait to see what happens, next! We have the new Season 4 episodes recodred on our DVR, but we want to watch all the episodes, first, so we don't spoil the stories for ourselves....

I'm just so shocked that I haven't hear ANYONE say to me to watch it. So maybe I can get the word out there... it's an amazing show, phenomenally well written, sensitive, insensitive, irreverent, reverent, sexy, outrageous, craaazy, shocking, funny... need I say more?? You're gonna looove it! There's stuff in there that you think, OMG, did they just do that??? Craazy! And you're going on a little bizarre trip through the 60's, and I grew up in the sixties, so to watch history unfold with a deeply personal edge to it -- brings history alive... and will make kids appreciate modern parenting! Oh, and Madmen is only for adults, or those people able to handle all aspects of life... and just so you know, we sit on opposite sides of the room, with a plant in between us -- easier for the more 'intense' scenes in the show! lol! Enjoy!! :)

I loved Shoot the Moon, by Billie Letts... it's a great read!! I can't wait to get a little time every day to read out on my balcony... you know when you find a book that you just can't put down? Well, Shoot the Moon is just that kind of great book! I love reading out in the sun, looking at the treetops, with a nice, hot, cup of tea! Now that's my kind of relaxation! And then when I'm really hot from reading, we pop down to the pool for a relaxing swim. How's that for a nice day??

I can't tell you how much I loved reading, I Know This Much Is True, by Wally Lamb. It was an amazing Read! Oh, man, it's one of the best books I've read in I don't know how long! If you're looking for an incredible story, this is it, Baby!

I got a copy of Wally Lamb's other Best Seller, She's Come Undone, then I couldn't put that down, and now I am reading Wally Lamb's, The Hour I First Believed. Man, oh, man, I love Wally Lamb!! WooHoo, I love reading!

I love The Four Agreements, by don Miguel Ruiz. Beautiful read. I picked up the Companion Book to The Four Agreements, and it's every bit as good (wonderful, if you will...) as the First Book of Agreements. Can't wait to get back up to my Sunroom (where I love to read!) to finish this next Book.Update: Now I've read every don Miguel Ruiz book I could get my hands on, and I loved them all. Especially The Mastery of Love -- wonnerful, wonnerful books! (As Ed Sullivan would say it! lol!)

Deepak Chopra's Peace is the Way, by Deepak Chopra -- truly brilliant book. One of those books you wish everyone on the Planet would read, then we'd see what a change we could make, all together, 'n all...

This little collection of my favorite Books are all squished together because I have sooo many Books that I love, so it's tricky to get them all in here. It would be a very, very long Page, so here's a nice selection of many of my Best Reads over the Years. Illusions, by Richard Bach, is one of my all-time favorite books.

I've been a John Updike Fan for years and years -- he's an incredible Writer. I love the whole Rabbit Run Series. If you haven't read it yet, and you happen to looove swearing, or at least reading a whole lot of it, you'll love this Rabbit Run! You'll get totally hooked on all the characters, and you won't be able to wait to get your grubby little hands on the next book in the Series, they're just that good!

I've just discovered John Updike's Licks of Love... don't let the title put you off, although, I guess if you're already a John Updike reader, it will just entice you even more! lol! But it has a Sequel, "Rabbit Remembered", which I was thrilled to find... a little bit of closure with Rabbit and his family...

Haha! I just finished reading Ali Wentworth's Happily Ali After - so funny! Ali Wentworth was so funny with Jerry Seinfeld on Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, or, as the Hip Kids (or, Hipsters? Anyway, somebody with great hips... ) as they call it, #CCC - #lol! Barnes & Noble - the Internet's Largest Bookstore | Shop Books, DVDs, Music, Toys, Gifts and More This little link will take you straight to Ali Wentworth's new book, Happily Ali After - #SoFunny!
Ali Wentworth and Jerry Seinfeld are having a GREAT time, together - AND, they got to go have some coffee : )

If you're a big fan of Ellen Degeneres, but have never read her books, you're in for a treat. I am particularly fond of her Dog Sledding Adventures. Just thinking about it, now, makes me laugh! haha! Ellen Degeneres' Great Books -- they're absolutely hilarious! Laugh out loud funny! You'll love 'em. And they make great gifts.

My Point...and I Do Have One: I got two Copies of Ellen Degeneres' New Book for Christmas, and this is one of the funniest books I've ever read -- and I've read a lot of hilarious books! It's hysterical -- it would be fun to read it in public, since you won't be able to stop laughing, and that'll be amusing all by itself! ha,ha,ha!

Dave Barry is another Writer that I just adore. His stuff is hysterical. I love it all. I am particularly fond of his stories that include his Two Dogs -- Dave Barry's  main dog and the auxiliary dog... laugh out loud funny!

There you go! That'll keep you laughing, for years to come! lol! Thanks, #DaveBarry, for all da laughs!

Breastfeeding (or Nursing) is a huge issue for me -- I believe in it very strongly. Just think how much healthier we would all be as a society if the vast majority of our Babies were Breastfed... Our Health Care System would benefit greatly, because it sets the child up for a much healthier life. (Just to prevent any annoying Lawsuit, these are my own thoughts, and the whole thing is a matter of personal choice...) Anyway, it's great for the Mother (and Father!) and, of course, the sweet little Baby, and the Le Leche League Book was the

Best Guide I found. Very Practical Advice about all sorts of Parenting Issues, too. I was accidentally given a copy of an old La Leche League book when my daughter, Cara, was born, almost 23 years ago, and then I went in search of it when my little man, Aidan was born, a mere 11 years ago... anyway, I found these books to be more helpful than anything else in the whole Baby Department. (Not that I didn't read them all, because I did, as you might imagine! haha!) As with pretty much any other book, you take out the information you find useful that works for you, and leave whatever seems a teensy bit crazy for the next person... and you might be very surprised to find that, in time, you might find yourself doing something that you might formerly believed to be 'a little nutty', and all of a sudden, you're doing it, too, so keep your mind and heart open and just do what's right for your and your sweet little baby (no matter how old!).
Shop Now for Nursing Bras at ThymeMaternity.com!  Look at her cute little face - she's so excited to be 'Expecting'... so cute!! So exciting!! : )

The rest are all great 'Reads' in their own right -- and in case you're wondering what makes for a 'great read' for me, if I can't put it down, forget all time and can't wait to find the time to get back to the book, that's a 'Great Read'! Also, if I took some incredible new Life-Changing Ideas from the Book, that makes it qualify, too.
Just click right on the books you like, and you'll go straight to the page where you can buy them online. It's a very easy process, and before you know it, you'll have a lovely new book to love!

Amazon has great prices, and often you can buy a used copy of whatever book you're after... especially if you're looking for a good 'Beach Read' or Summer Read, this is a great way to go. Of course, New is always nice...!
Here's a Great Book to Quit Smoking -- a whole page dedicated just to that! I think Allen Carr is brilliant!  I loved his book (gave me some insight into a smoker's life), andit helped me lose weight, too!

Hey, Craig Ferguson's New Book is now on the Best Seller List -- WooHoo! You know I loves me some Craig! He's sooo funny on The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson (makes sense!) -- it's Must-See TV for me! Craig Ferguson is always open and honest about his own life, addictions 'n all, so maybe there's a wee bit about that in the book .. and some spicy stuff, too!!(Ooooh!)

I bought his book at the largest Barnes and Noble Book Store on the West Coast, in The Farmer's Market in L.A. -- fantastic! The book and the Farmer's Market... both come highly recommended (from me!).

So I've been reading away at these letters in 'Letters from a Nut', and the more you read, the harder you laugh. Man, I was killin' myself laughing, and when I got to the bit about the Bet Wetting (Level 4) and the concern over Personal Odor issues before going to a fancy schmancy restaurant in Beverly Hills, I couldn't stop laughing. This is hilarious!! Now I can't wait to get my hands on all the other 'Letters from a Nut', since there's a Series -- yippee! Hope it's endless! Oh, Ted L. Nancy, you are my favorite wee nut!

Jerry Seinfeld 'discovered' these Letters from a Nut, and he does the Intro to the books (there are three 'nutty' books out there, now.. and these are hilarious, especially the inquiry about Naked Gambling in Las Vegas (everyone wants to know more about that, don't they?? ha,ha!). These books make for a great gift because they are good for any age (the over 12 crowd...), and you can even take them along to parties to make your friends think you're extra-funny when you read them out loud -- you should have a few drinks, first, if possible...

I read Wanda Sykes' book, "Yeah, I Said It" -- man, it's laugh-out-loud funny. She's hilarious! It's Wanda's

take on everything, and she's right on target with it all -- hysterical!

He's Just Not That into You: The No-Excuses Truth to Understanding Guys I got this book for Cara (my 22 year old daughter), but I think I enjoyed it more than she did ... maybe that's the difference between 22 and 47 -- I'm the 47 year old! ha,ha,ha! This is a great, easy read, and you'll recognize yourself in quite a few of the stories, so it's a good 'peak at your past' if you're already done with your 'Dating Days', and a whole lot of great Advice for those still in the Dating Trenches...! And just for the Record, there's many a 'Girl' who desperately wanted to get out of the Trenches and get married who is now thinking those Dating Days weren't so bad, after all...oh, that grass is always so much greener on the opposite side, ain't it?? (I'm divorced, now, and man, dating is annoying... canny wait to get married, again! lol!)

They have a CD Version, too, that you could listen to with a Group of Friends, and, say, a few Bottles of Wine... or in your Car during your Daily Commute...it's all very entertaining, so you'll pick up some good tips and have a few laughs, too, since the Writers of He's Just Not That Into You were also Writers for Sex and the City, so you know they're great!

Need a Sex and the City fix?? These are a great read for any Sex and the City Fan! I loved 'Trading Up', and hope somebody makes that into a Movie, which would be fantastic, and just finished 'Sex in the City' before that! Fun summer reading, or any other time of year when you need a quick escape!

Okay, so now I'm finished all the Candace Bushnell Books, and they were great! I love her style of writing. They are all a fun read, but it's definitely 'Adult Content', much like the Sex and the City Series, so keep the kids away when you're reading! ha,ha!

I hear it's a fun read, though, so check it out!

And here's another hilarious book that makes a great gift! If you love The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and his 'gang'/'posse', you'll love this!

And this is hilarious, too! I loved Jon Stewart's take on The Last Supper -- very funny. One great laugh after another, so if you love The Daily Show, you're definitely gonna love this!

When I read The Da Vinci Code, it was all I could do to put it down to do some work on my Site, it's that good! If there's a chance you haven't read it, yet, this is a really good read.

Oh, and here's my take on Donald Trump - I think Donald Trump is actually pretty Moderate, but maybe that's not what wins an election in the States? Too many people far too far to the Right, and Moderation is generally for the best, for a gov't... anyway, I think the chances are high that, if Donald Trump were to win an election, he would be much more Moderate than what appears to be the case, right now...

What I don't like is the forgone conclusion by some of the media in the States, where they seem to just want the names they already know, Clinton and Bush - they're both good candidates, too - I'm a Big Fan of Bernie sanders - he's so smart, a great sense of Social Responsibility, and a tremendous interest in supporting Veterans and students - that's very important to me, and I think it's well within reason to think (or hope - lol!), that we'll end up living back in the States, soo, is all of great interest to me ...

And I'm hoping for sensible Immigration Reform, where the doors are more open to Canadians who want to live and work in the States (me! lol!), and a reasonable way to manage all the people who are currently in the States, but not legally... but that has to come to an end, this business of assuming people can immigrate illegally - not sure why so many people think that's defensible - there's a reason why it's called 'illegal immigration', and is in no way the same or the equivalent to legal immigration - jus' saying...

And I like the Donald Trump Books -- I got this new one for Christmas a while back, but good information is good information, right?? (Technically was from Dwight! ha,ha!), and I got the last one for Dwight for Father's Day! Great for fans of The Apprentice! #DonaldTrump

Dwight (my ex-husband, but we're still really good friends, and he's my little man, Aidan's Dad, so very important to get along really well!) actually bought this lastest Trump Book for me one Christmas. So far, so good. Lots of practical Real Estate information in this book. I'm just getting into the more personal stuff, though, and that looks great, so I'm looking forward to finding some time alone in the Sunroom to get a little more reading in!

Well, I think everyone who knows me, knows that I loove money!  I love to know new ways to make more money, too... let's all be wealthy! Yippee!! The Weekend Millionaire's Secrets to Investing in Real Estate: How to Become Wealthy in Your Spare Time ...

I just love this old book -- it's a riot to read, and I think there's a fair bit of truth in there, too! Check it out! Pop in here to check out your own Horoscope... this is one of those books you love to read out loud to your friends, and you'll all laugh and laugh... there's a whole lot of, "Oh, yeah, that is exactly what I'm like", or, from them, "Yeah, man, that's exactly what I'm like!!"... only at the good parts of the horoscope, though!  No one ever wants to admit to their 'bad side'! lol!

East of Eden (Oprah's Book Club)  I loved East of Eden! Man, what a great book! If you haven't had the pleasure of reading this, yet, or you're looking for a great book to give to someone, this is it. I never have very much time to read, but I found myself stealing as much time as I could to 'get back to the book'! Now I really miss all the Characters, so I must go out and read all the rest of Steinbeck's Work! Some of it I've read already, but I think I got a lot more out of his work, now.

And here's Oprah's Book Club Selection from a while ago -- can't wait to read that!! It's sooo funny how exciting it is to see Oprah open up 'The Box' to Reveal her new Book Club Choice! I think Oprah is a miracle all on her own, since she's brought Reading back into the Regular Lives of Millions of People... not to mention all the other incredible feats of Help she has done over the years. Oprah is an English Teacher's Dream Come True! ha,ha! (Yes, that's me!!)

Cara played Glinda, The Good Witch when she was in Grade Six (and a fantastic Glinda she was, too!)...so we are always on the Look-out for Wizard of Oz

Have you ever thought of Writing a Romance Novel? They're fun to write and can be very Lucrative -- and fun to write... and read!

In Honor of Black History Month (and to honor Black History, in general!), here's a great Link where you can find all your favorite (and some 'new-to-you' Writers that will soon become your favorites!) African-American Writers. You can see from the group of Book above that I have many, many favorite African-American Authors -- Richard Wright, Maya Angelou, Toni Morrison, James Baldwin... the list goes on and on.

There's no end to the great books out there... Happy Reading!! Ailsa xox
