#Salsa Chicken - #Chicken! #ChickenRecipes : ) So Easy and Nutritious - Everyone will love it #GroceryDelivery #Chocolate! #EasyRecipes #ChickenRecipes

Salsa Chicken - Make you wanna dance! haha! So Easy and Nutritious - Everyone will love it : )

Well, this couldn't be any easier, and is so practical, you'll love it, and the kids will love it, too.  We make extra, and then I just pull apart the extra chicken meat, I take one chicken breast at a time, fully cooked, after I've taken it out the oven, so it'll just flake apart with two forks, and I put each pulled chicken breast into a baggie, pop it in the freezer, since it makes the perfect amount of chicken for our favorite Pass da Pasta meal - and THAT meal makes at least 6 meals, too... it's all about making these little 'meal starters', little baggies of meat already cooked - has to be from fresh meat, any meat that is frozen has to be eaten right away, or just saved in the fridge, not frozen, again... safety first, right? lol!  Anyway, this is a very tasty and practical meal, and you and your whole family will love it : )

So here's how insanely easy this Salsa Chicken meal is.... you takes your chicken breasts, rinse them under cold water, pop them right in the pan.  Cover with your favorite Salsa (Mild, Medium or Hot and Spicy), cover with Tin Foil, bake in the oven at 350 Degrees for at least an hour, but I love it baked in the oven for an hour and a half, 90 minutes, or a couple of hours.  You can just pop it in the oven, go read, or watch some good shows, and Wham, it'll be all ready for you - yum! Easy and delicious!  And nutritious, too! And the vegetables are right in the Salsa - done! lol!

This is the chicken package I usually buy - $10 for 5 chicken breasts, and they make huge meals - there's soo much meat in each chicken breast.  I typically do the 'pulled meat' for 2 of the chicken breasts, so I just pop those in the freezer, right away, then they're ready for another meal, another day... so easy : )

Well, if you've been reading any of my recipes, you'll know I'm very fond of cheese - Ah, Cheeses, so-to-speak... makes me laugh, every time - hahaha!  Say it like you're at Church - haha!   So I grate some cheese on my Chicken Salsa.  Cheese is a very healthy food, despite what some of the new food 'gurus' are saying, these days - these people drive me crazy - so infuriating, going around, saying information like it's the truth, when it's just to sell more books... I'm all for selling lots of books, but don't mislead the public to make money - no, why, that seems a little unethical, don't it? lol!  Like any diet that says you'll 'lose 9 pounds a week, 18 pounds in 2 weeks' - ah, nope.  Not gonna happen.  And you don't even want that to happen to your body... one, who on earth is gonna shave their coconut into slices, like bread? Whaaat??  Oh, yeah, no problemo.  I'm right on it. I'm just gonna quickly go get a coconut, break it open on the sidewalk (get rid of the snow, first - lol!), see if I can get the entire piece of the coconut meat out in one bit, pretty easy, if you've ever fought with a coconut to get the meat out - coconuts are known for their extreme ease in removing them from the shell, slice that down into paper-thin slices, and make mah'self a little - emphasis on the 'little' - sammich... soo easy!  And any calories you might have from your little 'coconut sandwich' will all be taken up in the vast amount of swearing you'll have done, making your meal for the day - hahahahaha! Dat stuff make'a me laugh! lol!

Impractical and idiotic 'diets' drive me up the wall - you need to provide real food, that real people eat, and WANT to eat, to make any real changes... yummy and healthy can easily co-exist, right?  Right!

Hahaha - well, if you can spot the differences in these two pics of my fave Salsa Chicken, good for you!  I must've thought they were really different angles - or one was my plate, and one was my son's? haha!  But to plate this lovely and delicious meal, we just make our rice (truth be told - one time, years ago, I had accidentally picked up the 'boil in a bag' rice - well, wasn't me, but it was in my kitchen, and we were all out of our 'normal' rice, and it was THE best rice, was soo easy, so now we love the minute rice - is healthy enough - not to worry.  But make whatever is your favourite rice, me iz jus' a'saying, it's okay to eat white rice, it is not the worst thing, ever, that's just another line to make people feel guilty about what they're eating (can you see this really bothers me? lol!), and I just make it in the microwave, 12 minutes, done (!), equal parts rice and water, no extra salt, you can add salt on the actual meal, if you feel like you need it, but the Salsa is so lovely, you probably won't need any extra salt - that's the easy way to cut back on salt - just wait 'til the meals are on the table, each person can make their own decisions, and no one has any more salt than they actually want, and your children won't even 'get a taste' for salt, since, really, that's probably why so many adults have such a need for salty food - we grew up with it, so maybe it's like a comfort food sort of thing, right?  Who knows?  Maaay-be! lol!

Oh, and you could easily serve your Salsa Chicken over pasta, too : )

See how easy?  There's the magical bowl of Minute Rice, there's the finished Salsa Chicken - one piece of chicken per person is probably just right - I like a half a piece of chicken, or I just save half of my whole meal for lunch the following day - yum!  But eat what you like, you really can't go wrong with this lovely little dish, and whatever you do save for another meal, will be even better, since the flavor is fantastic the next day : ) Yum!

Oooh, here's the Salsa Chicken all covered up, ready to go into the oven - 350 for about an hour and a half, a little less or a little more, no biggie... I like it really well baked (insert joke, here - buh'dum-bum... hahah!), since I love when the meat just pulls apart - is very tender and delicious.

Just pour the Salsa right on the Chicken.  You can use a can of Diced Tomatoes, instead, or in addition to the Salsa... it will all be good, one way or another : )

5 Chicken Breasts fit neatly into an 8" X 8" pan.... and if you have a bigger family, or want to make a lot more chicken for a dinner party, or to save a lot of little bags of the pulled chicken for your meal starter bags, just use a 9" X 13" pan, it'll all work out very easily : )

And there you go!  So easy, right?  I'll go get the link for you to see how to make the Pass da Pasta meal, too - we just use one of the little baggies of the pulled chicken from this meal, use it as a starter for the next meal - is a great way to make great meals for your family, economically : )

Happy Eating! Ailsa : )

#BBQ #Steak #Pork #Chicken #SteakMarinade You can use this #Marinade on any meat #SoGood! Stir Fry Steak in the Oven? Yum! #Pork #PorkBreastBone

Marinated Stir Fry Steak, Baked

Yum, we just had this for dinner, tonight, and man, was it ever delicious!  I was shopping, this morning, and they had this nice looking Stir Fry Steak, looked really lean, was really inexpensive ($3.81, I think), and I thought, hmmm, that might be nice with our favorite Marinade... so when I got home, I quickly made up the marinade, put the steak strips into it, covered the dish and popped in the fridge until dinner time.  We were just gonna do a regular stir-fry, but I always find that steak feels kind of tough, to me, when it's in a stir fry, so I said to my lovely son, Aidan (he's 13), hey, do you mind if I see what it's like if we bake it?

Sooo, it turned out to be sooo delicious, really tender, think I might go have a wee piece from the fridge, right now!

I served the Stir Fry Steak with broccoli and rice - was delicious, and would have been virtually fat free, if it weren't for the butter on my rice! lol!

Marinade (great for steak, chicken, or pork :)

1/3 cup vinegar

2/3 cup Oil (Olive Oil - whatever oil you like)

Montreal Steak Spice... maybe 2 tablespoons...
I think I put in a fair bit, because we really love Montreal Steak Seasoning - is fantastic sprinkled on veggies, too, especially if you're cooking them in a tin foil package on the BBQ - just a wee bit of olive oil or butter, little sprinkle of Montreal Steak Spice, seal it up and pop it on the BBQ - or I guess in the oven, too! lol!  (This is a great way to cook fish, too... : )

Mix in a bowl or large measuring cup (the 4 cup measuring cup if you want to put the meat right in the same container...), rinse the meat and make sure it's all covered with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for as long as you feel like it - 3 - 4 hours is long enough, but however amount of time you have : )

I cooked the Stir Fry Steak in the oven at 350 Degrees Farenheit, on a cookie sheet with sides (it'll create a lot of juice), just place the meat carefully on the baking sheet with it's own little space. I turned it twice, drained some of the fluid off in the middle, because I really love when the steak gets that crispyish thing on the side... but I'm Scottish, I like my meat well done (buh'dum'bum! lol!) (Sorry!! hahahaha!)

Okay, this was a really good meal, so we'll definitely have this, again, and the whole meal was around the $5.00 mark, for two hungry folks (me and the boy!! lol!).

Happy Eating! Ailsa xox

I just poured the vinegar, oil, Montreal Steak Spice and Seasoning salt into the glass 9" X 13" pan, mixed with my fingers, rinsed the meat and rolled them in the mixture, all right in the pan, and popped them in the oven at 350 for about 2 to 3 hours, maybe longer - depends on how much meat you have, and if you like your meat done really well - err, DIY ur own bad jokes, here - haha! lol! ; )

So, today we happened upon a new cut of meat that I've never seen or heard of, before, but was a great deal, so now it's in the oven $1.13/lb or $2.47/kg Convert Price per kg to $ per pound Divide the $/kg by 2.2 $2.47kg=$1.13/lb🤑🙄

Yum! They taste like delicious Pork Ribs, lots of meat - and I had mine with BBQ Sauce - deeeelish!

Stuffed Green Peppers -- Healthy, Easy and Delicious! : ) #StuffedPeppers #GreenPeppers #HealthyMeals

Delicious Stuffed Green Peppers - Or any color you like! lol! : )
Yum!! I just took the Stuffed Peppers out the oven, the house smells heavenly!  A nice little salad all around the stuffed pepper -- delicious and very healthy meal : )  Enjoy!!
Great Shopping Deals for You - you deserve a great deal! lol!

Stuffed Peppers are a tasty treat that are like a little meal all by themselves -- you've got the Peppers, other Veggies, Rice and Meat all wrapped up into one neat little package!

Ingredients:

6 - 8 Green Peppers
(you can use Red, Yellow or Orange Peppers, too, for fun!)
1 Pound of Ground Meat
1 Large Tin of Diced Tomatoes
1 Package of Sliced Mushrooms
1 Cup of Frozen Corn
1 Celery Stalk, Diced (about 8 pieces of Celery)
1 Onion, Diced
2 Cups of Rice (uncooked , but you'll be cooking it...!)
Spices -- Montreal Steak Spice, Garlic and Red Pepper Spice, Basil, Italiano Spice... really, whatever Spices you really like in your Spaghetti Sauce will work here.
Cheddar Cheese, Cubed

Step 1: Clean and cut the Top off 7 or 8 Green Peppers.

I make 10 at a time, then I just pop the extra ones individually wrapped in Tin Foil into the Freezer for another day. You can only do that if you use Fresh Meat (not Frozen) when you first make the Peppers...

Step 2: Brown 1 Pound of Ground Beef or Ground Turkey.

Step 3: Add in the Tomatoes, Veggies and Spices. Stir well.

Step 4: Turn the Heat down to Simmer, Cover and leave it for a good 30 minutes.

Step 5: Put the Rice on -- 2 Cups of Rice plus 41/4 Cups of Water outta do it...

Step 6: Cube the Cheddar Cheese, then put a few little cubes of Cheese in the base of each Pepper. Go ahead and put the Peppers straight in the Pan you're going to cook them in -- it's just easier that way. You can Grease the Pan with Olive Oil to prevent the Peppers from sticking to the Pan.

Step 7: Mix all the Rice with the Meat Sauce. Spoon the Mixture into each Pepper, then push some Cheese Cubes into each Pepper. Place the Tops of the Peppers on Top of each one.

Step 8: Pop them in the Oven for about 45 Minutes -- just enough time to go and have a Cup of Tea (or a wee drink!) and relax a wee bit before dinner.

This is a great meal to make if you've had Spaghetti the night before, and have quite a bit of Spaghetti Sauce left over. Just add a few more Veggies and you're off and running.

The other thing you can do is Cut the Peppers in Half so you can Fill each side, then Fill them, cover with Grated Cheese, then Bake them.

These Peppers are great for a Dinner Party, too, and are really nice Served with French Bread and a Nice Salad.

Happy Cooking! Ailsa! : )

10 Minute Shrimp Dinner - soo yummy!! #Shrimp #ShrimpDinner #TenMinuteMeals #EasyRecipes #Seafood

Check out the weekly steals at Pricefalls! Up to 70% Off Electronics, Accessories & More. Shop Now! So cool - they have everything - Hello, One Stop Shopping!
Super Easy Shrimp Dinner -- you can make this delicious meal in 10 minutes : )
Ingredients:

1 package Large Shrimp, or any size you like, or whatever's on sale! lol!

2 Tbsp Butter (you can use Olive Oil, if you like, I just happen to love me butter!!)

Seasoning Salt

Parsley

Rice

French-cut Green Beans - or any veggie you like : )

This is sooo easy to make -- you can make it in about 10 minutes, and Voila, you've got a lovely, healthy meal for your whole family!

Put the rice on -- we are big fans of Minute Rice, these days... we first tried it by accident, a couple of years ago -- we had picked up the 'bag-o'rice' thing, made it in the microwave, and were hooked -- easiest rice on the planet!  But make your rice any way you like! (You can put the Shrimp on Pasta, too, if you like : )

I use frozen Shrimp, since we're nowhere near the Coast, right now... but use whatever shrimp is available to you. (Here's a wee bit of irony - now we're right on the Coast, because we moved out to Victoria, Canada, right at the southern most tip of Vancouver Island, but we still use the frozen shrimp - it's the easiest, and it's pretty tricky to find fresh seafood at a reasonable price out here - oooh, I miss the seafood in California!)

I use a non-stick large skillet, put that on high, add the butter first, or right away (or Olive Oil), rinse the shrimp and toss the shrimp in the melted butter, sprinkle with Seasoning Salt and Parsley... sooo yummy!  I throw in the Green Beans after I take the plain shrimp out for my son, since he's not crazy about Parsley OR Green Beans (lol!), and cook right in the pan... there's a lovely butter sauce that develops on it's own, is soo yummy ... pour over a bed of rice and enjoy!!

This whole dish can be made in 10 minutes... is fast, easy, nutritious and delicious -- and your kids will love it, too!
Shrimp is a very healthy food, virtually no fat and zero carbs... it's the butter I add dat da slight problemo!! hahaha! Oh, and in case you're worried about the 'cholesterol' issue that was associated with shrimp for a while, there, don't worry, shrimp has the good cholesterol, the kind of cholesterol that helps your body, so it's a lovely 'no worries' dinner your whole family will love! : )
Oh, and here's a little recipe I was thinking about while I was watching #BigBrotherAfterDark last night - lol! Now I'm trying to figure out how I could make this so it would be like Churros, for my son, who really, really misses all the delicious Churros we used to get in California - no good Mexican restaurants, up here in the North - booo!  Come on up, El Pollo Loco or Chipotle, or both!!  We would looove some delicious Mexican Food up here in Canada! : ) (Pweeease!!)

#BBHaveNots - So, it looks like the BB Have Nots have a lot more options than they used to have, right?  And you know how the HaveNots have Hawaiian Buns, this week?  I wonder if they could slice them, thick slices, fry them in a pan of a little oil, then toss in cinnamon sugar?

Man, that sounds deeelish, right?  Now me wants to try that!

(Cinnamon Sugar, in case you haven't made it, yet, is just a nice mix of , say, a couple of tablespoons of cinnamon, and maybe about a half cup of sugar - you can add more cinnamon, to taste... is a good sprinkle for all sorts of wee things! lol!)

Okay, here's some other stuff me haz been a'thinkin' about, this week - lol! Ailsa : )

And here's where you can get some REAL Hawaiian Buns! lol! By the time you're done laying out on the beach in Hawaii, you'll have some Hawaiian Buns of yer own - bah'hahahaha!
