I just finished reading The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry, by Rachel Joyce, and what a wonderful, beautiful, gentle book this is.  I just loved it.  So gentle, so kind, so insightful.  I was up all night reading it! lol!   You know when you find a book you don't want to put down, you really need and want to know what's going to happen with the characters?  Well, you'll get that caught up with Harold, who sets off on a modern-day pilgrimage to save the life of his long lost friend, Queenie Hennessy, who is struggling with cancer.

There is a bit in the book where it really sounds like the changes that have happened over the many, many years of the Church... you'll see it when you read it - it's really subtle, but what a great book for a Book Club, or to study at school... just so lovely, so magical at bits, with so much human empathy... really, I can't say enough good things about The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry : )

This is such a heart warming, and heart wrenching, story... you'll love all the twists and turns on the road, and in the story, of Harold Fry's journey, and a true journey it is. Absolutely beautiful, a must read.  Harold's wife, Maureen, their son, David, and their neighbor, Rex, and all the characters (in the true sense of the word) Harold meets along his path - they're a very interesting lot, and you'll come away with a great feeling in your heart for the humanity of all these people.

I highly recommend this beautiful book, The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry - you'll love it.

Survivor: Caramoan...li'l crazy out there, this Survivor Season...

So it's getting pretty crazy out there on Survivor Caramoan, this season. Is worrisome, and difficult to write about, because of all the underlying issues going on... why so much anger??  They all knew what they were getting into, and it's not easy... but I've gotta tell you, when I watch the crap with Russel's nephew, Brandon, going off like a lunatic all the time, then having absolutely no remorse, no misgivings about his horrendous behaviour - well, that's my first marriage in a nutshell, but Brandon is much better than my horrible ex... but when I see the fear in everyone's eyes, because this is not normal human behaviour - it's not the usual cause and effect you would have with normal human beings - these nutjobs can blow up over nothing, it comes out of nowhere, and you're just standing there, desperately trying to survive through it - so that's how I lived for too long in that first marriage.. and that's why it's so hard for me to write about it, but I do like that at least that kind of explosive personality can be out there for everyone to see, so that when a woman says she is living like this, or lives through that, or, hopefully, has lived through that, people might have a better understanding of just how scary it is, and that the lunatic has not been provoked - they provoke themselves, take it out on someone at home, usually.  sometimes it carries over into the workforce, but usually this 'special' kind of behaviour is saved for the people at home.   So now I hope that if there were people (male or female) who were watching Survivor Caramoan on Wednesday, and saw their own lives in the crazy that is Brandon, I hope they will see how all the other people reacted the same way, and needed to be away from the danger.  and those people ARE dangerous, and they firmly believe they are above the law and can get away with any behaviour, and they feel vindicated and justified in their behaviour and actions - they will never, ever, feel any sense of wrong-doing, or mismanagement of their actions/words/behaviours.

The rest of Survivor washed right over me, because the actions of Brandon were overwhelming for me.... but it's a very different game, this time around.  Phillip is coming off soo much better than the last time Phillip was on Survivor, so maybe that's a measuring stick of 'how crazy are you?" lol!  Who knows!  And I'm starting to like Reynold, better, now... I didn't like that they were calling themselves 'the pretty people' (okay, maybe it was me who used that term! lol!), but sectioning yourself off in a group based solely on looks - obnoxious. But I'm happy to see that sappy girl voted off - canny even remember her name, yet, but she was very weak, really annoying, so glad she's gone... and there's so much about Crazy on Survivor, there's no room left for the laughs, so now that most of the crazy is gone, we can get on with a good game of Survivor - the one I really love! lol!

Bachelor Sean Proposes to Catherine - Poor Little Lindsay...

Wow,  Jimmy Kimmel called it - Bachelor Sean chose Catherine.  So sad for Lindsay... I've gotta say, I really like Catherine, what a beautiful girl she is, but I really thought Sean was gonna choose Lindsay, because they were always kissing, so what was ALL that kissing about, right up until the very end??? Yuck. Weird.  I really felt for her, and the very first thing I thought when they were standing there in front of the water, all shiny and right there, why doesn't she just shove him in the water??? hahahahaha!  Noooo, not that anyone would actually do that, but the thought is a lot of fun! hahaha!  Clearly, appeals to my sense of humor, makes me laugh! haha!  But he really, really, led her on - surely that's not okay... does the show make the Bachelor do that, or what's the deal?  If you're gonna actually marry someone, surely you shouldn't still be kissing (a lot) someone else, right before you get engaged, right??  Yuck. Poor wee Lindsay.... but, man, I laughed so hard when she's coming to the realization of what's going on, you can see she's processing the whole thing, and takes her high heel shoes off! hahahahaha!  THE best thing, ever!  Screw this, I'm not wearing these for you!!  You go, girl!!  Why be uncomfortable for even one second more, for someone who doesn't love her??  No, sir, not her! Hilarious!  So I really want Lindsay to find a really good man for her, now.. I'm sure someone will come out of the woodwork and find her : )

Wow, and now Catherine and Sean will be getting married on ABC.... surprise!  Of course, we'll watch it - Catherine will be a lovely Bride.... and I am just guessing they'll end up living in L.A., since surely Sean will, at the very least, go on a Soap Opera, or somewhere where he can work shirt-free, right?? lol!  And I'm really happy that they chose Desiree to be the new Bachelorette - she's so cute, and she's a normal girl... she deserves to find someone nice.. so do all the girls, and everyone else in the world, too, for that matter! lol!
