The Vacationers, by Emma Straub... what a Great Read! : > #TheVacationers #EmmaStraub #SummerReads

Man, I just finished reading The Vacationers, by Emma Straub, and now I want to go read everything written by Emma Straub!  What a great book - fun to read, great characters... you are drawn right into the world of the Post family, and you get to see life from each family member's perspective - fantastic character development, such a good read!

I couldn't put The Vacationers down, last night - was up 'til 5am reading it! lol! Now that's the sign of a really good book, right?  You justify staying up just a little bit longer, see what your 'new friends' are gonna do, next?? lol!

I hope we see a sequel of The Vacationers, from Emma Straub, so we can see what happens with Bobby, Sylvia, Franny and Jim...and Charles and Lawrence - what a great couple!  I don't want to say too much - I want it all to unfold for you like it did for me! lol!

Go find it - oh, and if you're in Amazon, just pop into the paperback section - is way less expensive....and we have no idea where our Kindles went...hmmm, they must be somewhere... but you can get the Vacationers on your Kindle, too, of course - yippee!  Even faster! lol!

Happy Reading!  Ailsa : )

Blueberry Bagels with Cream Cheese - Simple and Delicious! Aaaand, Healthy? lol!

These Blueberry Bagels are soo delicious - one of my favorite treats. I have been known to say, 'tastes just like cheesecake' - but in my mind, even better, because, for real, it's mostly just blueberries! hahaha!

See the first picture?  That's what they're supposed to look like, and those are great, too, but here's what my plate REALLY looks like - hahahahaha!

I just mound those blueberries on top of the bagel with cream cheese - I love the whipped cream cheese, but I haven't been able to find that in Canada - boo!  Come on, Canada, we like light and fluffy things, too! lol! Oooh, now Canada has my favourite Whipped Cream Cheese - thanks, Walmart!!

You can sorta still see the bagels with cream cheese, right? hahaha!  Blueberries are really good brain food, so just think how smart you'a gonna be after you eat all of these lovely blueberries! lol!

We just got the 5 pound box of blueberries - looove blueberry season!  We're almost out, now, and I think you can see why...so, back to the store for another 5 lb. box of blueberries!  Yahoo!

This is such a simple dish, but it's crazy delicious, and really healthy for you, too, and the kids love it!

Oh, see the Rice Krispies in the background?  Because I saw Jimmy Kimmel eating them on his show, a while back, and now I need to eat some Rice Krispie Squares, too - hahaha!  The power of suggestion is very strong in me! hahaha!

Now, here's my new little trick that I've never done, before, but I really loved... you know how sometimes blueberries can be a little tart (like some girls I know - buh'dum'bum...!)...so I just spinkle a little bit of sugar right on the cream cheese, once it's spread on the bagel, then a little more sugar sprinkled on the blueberries... yum!! You're gonna love this wee treat!

See how easy?  And Blueberry Bagels are soo delicious!

You have to be super careful when you're eating these blueberry bagels, though - you'll be enjoying your blueberry bagel, and whammo, there goes another blueberry offa your plate, right?? haha! Don't worry, you'll quickly figure out how to cup your hand around the blueberry bagel... and I suppose you could go mad and eat it with a knife and fork, but I think it's waaaay more fun to try to keep the blueberries from falling off your bagel with cream cheese... and you can just jam in the extra blueberries with each mouthful - sounds delightful, doesn't it?  haha!  So ladylike and dainty! lol!

Go enjoy!! Or, please to enjoy yourself... lol!  Ailsa : )

You can always grow your own fruit - soo much fun!

I have blueberry bushes and strawberries in hanging baskets, on my balcony - you don't need a big space to have fun growing your own fruit, and if you have kids, they will get such a kick out of it - is soo much fun to pick your very own fruits and veggies! : )

Big Brother 16: Amber's Out the Door...and Caleb STILL thinks he's the 'King of the house' - bleh!

Big Brother 16: Amber's Out the Door...and Caleb STILL thinks he's the 'King of the house' - Delusional, much? lol!

So, lovely Amber was evicted from the Big Brother house, tonight - poor kid, and mostly because of Caleb ruining her game, but good for Amber to say to Julie Chen, when she was talking to Julie after the eviction, and told Julie, straight-up, that she wouldn't have pretended to like Caleb, just for the money - good girl!  But how much does it suck that Amber had to go because Caleb turned out to be a crazy?

And you know what? Whenever I hear any man say he's 'King of his Castle', that guy is a crazy-assss jerk. Guaranteed. What kind of lunatic ego needs to be a 'king'?  Ladies, that's usually the sign of an abuser, and the whole thing where he keeps calling Amber 'his queen'?? Gross. They can label you a queen or a princess, and it's putting the woman on a pedestal, then it suddenly becomes their crazy mission to 'knock her off her throne', even if he is the one who 'put her there'. It's full-out crazy, and is rarely a good thing. Just both be normal people, no pedestals, a couple of nice, equal, people, done.

That was such a shame that Donny didn't want to carry through with the #TeamAmerica mission, and each of the members of #TeamAmerica, Donny, Derrick and Frankie, to vote against the house, then cause a little ruckus...hmmm, it was hard to tell if Donny was protecting his own game by not voting out Jocasta, who is clearly in alliance, or at least, alongside, Donny, and if it was too much for him to cause any kind of negativity... I know that's against his nature, but he just cost #TeamAmerica $15,000 - that's a lot of money. and everyone knows it's a game, it's not like he wouldn't be forgiven... sooo, that was a shame. I hope the next mission for #TeamAmerica isn't so mean-spirited...why were those the only two options, both designed to cause tension and fighting in the Big Brother house.

Oh, that reminds me - is there any alcohol in the Big Brother house?  I haven't sen any fights over who drank the wine, and I haven't seen any drunken fights, at all... and maybe that's why there are so few showmances?  Without the 'magic' of alcohol, no extra love in the Big Brother house? haha!  Now we've gotta keep an eye out for the booze! lol!

Oh, and here's a little eye candy for you! hahahaha!  Cody is the one that Amber was surprised voted against her... I think Amber did think she had a little something with Cody, so pretty weird that she told Julie Chen Cody was 'like a brother' to her - yick, that would be a super creepy brother-sister thing goin' on, there, right?  Sooo, nope, that's not what a brother-sister relationship looks like... (is there a little Game of Thrones joke, here? hahaha!  Nooo, yick! lol!)

Otay, 'til next time!  Go have yourself some fun!!  Ailsa : )
