An Easy Way to Keep Your Poppy On! : )

Canada:

Text POPPY to 20222 to make a $5 donation to The Poppy Campaign in Canada - that's a nice thing to do! : )

Remembrance Day is different in the States - we really had to look far and wide to find a Remembrance Day Ceremony, in California - there was one in Manhattan Beach that we used to go to... The US celebrates and gives Thanks to their Veterans in May.... and, I tried to confirm this info, but, is too tricky from Canada, where we live, now, but, try this...

USA: Text Soldiers to 20222 to donate $5 to Soldiers’ Angels in support of care-packages for troops overseas

Thank you for getting a Poppy!
Carefully cut a piece off an eraser...
See, it's so easy! And now you won't lose your Poppy!

Or jab yourself (or the kids!) with the poppy pin...

Yippee, you want to wear your Remembrance Day Poppy, to honour all the men and women who have served and are currently serving in the Military Service, to show your love, support and appreciation .....now, if you could just keep your Poppy from falling off!

Here's a quick fix: Cut a little bit of the eraser on a pencil, or any eraser, put your Poppy on your coat, or outfit (if you're in Canada, chances are high your Remembrance Day Poppy is on your coat!! lol!), then put the little bit of eraser on the end of the pin. Push it right through the pin, in about a 1/4 to 1/2 an inch, and you're good to go :)

Pass it along -- have you seen all the Remembrance Day Poppies on the ground, all over Canada?? lol!

And I want to send out a personal THANK YOU, and where on earth would we be without all the efforts of our strong and diligent Men and Women, now and in days gone past, serving selflessly in the Military Services? My heart goes out to all the Military families, too.... you are all the BEST!

Oh, and I love the 'new-to-me', very touching thing, to leave your Poppy at the cenotaph after the Remembrance Day Services - what a beautiful thing to do - makes you fell so connected to the process.

You know what? I just found my Poppy on the floor in the living room - now, when did that fall off, today, already? I thought I would get around to putting the eraser on the end of the pin on my Remembrance Day Poppy, but then I guess I must've thought, well, that seems pretty secure..

Anyway, my poppy fell off, again, so this morning, I went and found an old pair of earrings that I'm not worried about (inexpensive....very inexpensive - lol!), and put the little plastic backing from the earring on the poppy pin. Voila!! (Not 'walla', as some would lead you to believe...hahahaha!)

Thank You for Remembering all those who serve and who have served our country, and our sister nations, too : )

And, Thank You For Your Service, everyone who is, has, served our country! We all greatly appreciate your Service!

This is so moving, placing the poppies at the cenotaph, after the Remembrance Day Services.

Not a dry eye in the place, so moving.

In Flanders Fields

Just in case you haven't seen this deeply moving poem, or want to read it, again, commit it to memory... and the memory of all those who lost their lives, fighting for our freedom.

We Thank You, and We Remember You

Lest We Forget

I hope you can read the script for the Remembrance Day poem, In Flanders Fields. If you are a teacher, please share this with your class, and a parent, with your children : )
