#BackToSchool - School Uniforms - A Surprisingly Easy Way to Get the Kids Ready for #School! lol! #Aidan!

Summer Clearance Sales - Yippee - and, don't forget, I get a wee something from each sale, since I am an Affiliate of these stores - So thank you so much! You're so sweet for buying through me! : )

That's my wonderful son, Aidan - lol!  He loooves his school uniform, even though it's from his old school in California - or, that's where it started....

It's nice to send your kids off to school, looking smart and tidy... it's good for them, it's good for learning... and more often than not, it can set the mood for learning, just by maintaining a standard, you know? They're a serious learner, they plan to be successful in Life ...that sort of thing : )

School Uniforms - A Surprisingly Easy Way to Get the Kids Ready for School! lol! #BackToSchool

I think what happens when kids wear School Uniforms early on - they get a feel for just looking neat and clean, all the time, and, frankly, that's good for a 'business appearance', you know? whatever helps your kid to get ahead in life, that's a good way to go....

I didn't grow up with School Uniforms, though, and I really liked that level of freedom, and I leave the house all neat and tidy every day, too, sooo... you know, either way, your child is gonna grow up and be ah'mazing!

Target - Spend $50, save $10 or spend $100, save $25 on Home items with promo code COLLEGE, valid 8/9 - 8/15

Target $5 Beauty Box. 7 Items Perfectly Picked for College. Oooh, that's a good deal! lol!  Like a Surprise Bag, but with Make up! haha!

I was dead-set against the School Uniform, at first, because I felt like it would take away the individuality of the students, but it didn't, it provided a quick, nice, and easy way to get the kids ready for school, every morning.

We had all been invited to a 'Fashion Show' for the kids, when Aidan was in Grade 5, in Los Angeles, and we were horrified at the mere idea of switching over to School Uniforms, but then when I was talking to my fantastic Assistants, my wonderful para-professionals in my Special Education classroom, they were telling me that their kids had been at schools where they had School Uniforms, and their lives were soo much better, much easier to get the kids ready for school in the morning, and it took away that whole, 'what should I wear' thing - that's huuuge.  Much bigger in some families than other, but when the decision is 'white shirt or blue shirt', very easy.

Plus, and this is very important, the clothes the school had chosen for the School Uniforms, were really comfortable and affordable, the kids liked them, and the parents liked them.

And no more issues between the kids and comments on what someone else was or wasn't wearing - a big problem in a lot of schools. Eliminating this issue or who has which sneakers, or brand name shirts or pants - that can make school a much better experience for so many students.

So I used to just have piles of pants and piles of shirts, all ready for Aidan when he got up, so getting dressed was super-easy - always easy, and we didn't have any issues, before, but it was much easier to transition to the School Uniforms than I thought it would be, and now Aidan just likes how it looks, and he always looks neat and tidy, well put-together, you know?

AND, you can hand down your child's School Uniforms to the next kids coming along - either at school,, or with your friends, or their own siblings... is easy, the kids look neat and tidy, and it can solve some serious problems at school. It's win-win-win!

Oh, and that's Aidan at Butchart Gardens - those are blossoms hanging upside down on that tree - how cool is that?  Plus, very sweet that Aidan is still cool with going with me to the Gardens - lol!

#BB17 - Jason, "It's Name is Julia" - hahaha! #TwinTwist , #Austin, #RuhRoh

#BB17 - Jason, "It's Name is Julia" - hahaha! #TwinTwist

Oh, no, Austin has blown up his whole Big Brother game, over the #TwinTwist, telling Jason all about the twins, telling Jason he only wants to keep the twin he likes, Liz, and he's totally okay with evicting the other twin, Julia, from the BB house... and Liz has just been playing Austin, all along... if you watch them, in Big Brother After Dark, Liz is disgusted that Austin tried to go in for a kiss... and you know how gross that is, when you're not interested - lol!  Yick!

Here's what Austin gets for falling in love in Big Brother, and not bothering his assets (ish... you know what the real word is - lol!)...anyway, if he had any real sense of how Liz is really feeling - he touches her, she stays completely still, never has any sort of response... these are the little 'details' you'd think were painfully obvious, but Austin doesn't want to see it, sooo, now he's pretty much screwed.... and now there's a whole alliance to get Austin out #Darkmoon - so dark, you don't even see it coming.... lol!

Johnny Mac is soo happy, just to not be on the Block, this whole week - the whole week off - yippee!!  I loove that Johhny Mac has his own commercials for Big Brother - have you seen them?  Inneresting, right?  Hmmm...

And Jason is so funny - I love his little quips... I'm hoping there will be something great, after Big Brother, for Jason... made me laugh when Jason says, about Clay, right when they all went out to see the Battle of the Block, tonight - and there's a blank wall - Jason says, "Must be what Clay's brain is like" - bah'hahaha!  Funny.

I like Clay - not sure how I feel about the Shelli and Clay (Clelli - hahaha!) thing - it's tough to get through Big Brother as a couple, and I like Shelli, too - she likes to make her own jewelry, sells it on Etsy, so that's cool... and Shelli loves DIY, which me loves soo much, too...  I think it's pretty ballsy to think you would never be targeted, as a couple - seems painfully obvious, right?

In case you're on Etsy, too, or you just want to start selling stuff online (me, too! As soon as I figure it all out...)... packaging and shipping are my biggest hurdles, so you might be dealing with this, too...

Low cost, international shipping service with ParcelMonkey.com!

So, really, there's a lot of painfully obvious things going on in the BB house, Austin not noticing he's in his fancy romantic relationship with Liz, but all by himself, that Austin would think it's totally cool with Liz, to immediately ditch her TWIN sister, and I love that Shelli loves calling the twins, #Wombmates - bah'hahahaha!  That's funny!

Austin still appears to not know that he is about to be evicted, unless some other crazy thing happens in the BB house....

Vanessa is soo stressed out at 'getting blood on her hands', for remaining as the HOH, and now will have to be the one to put Austin on the Block, inn their backdoor plan... since Liz and James won the Battle of the Block, when they all thought it was a given that Clay and Becky would win the Battle of the Block...

Super exciting for James and Liz to win the BoB, so that they can have a great dinner from Outback steakhouse - yum!  And Jackie gets to join Clay and Liz, for dinner, too - and then when Liz ran over and jumped up on Austin, but no kisses - did you notice? lol!

Tricky to say, though, does Liz love Austin, or even like him, or is it really just a game?  Austin's in it for real, but it still feels like Liz might have some feelings for Austin, and maybe she doesn't want to say that out loud to her twin sister, Julia, since Julia doesn't like or trust, Austin? You don't always share everything with a sibling - people keep secrets all the time, especially if they think the other person won't like what you're saying (thus the secret... lol!)...

Oooh, Big Brother, you're a tricky one! Now I can't wait for Wednesday... or later tonight, since me loooves da #BigBrotherAfterDark - lol!  See you soon!  Ailsa : )

Lena Dunham's new book, Not That Kind of Girl - brilliantly written, so smart - couldn't put it down : )

Lena Dunham's new book, Not That Kind of Girl - brilliantly written, so smart - I couldn't put it down : )

Okay, this link will take you right to Lena Dunham's book, Not That Kind of Girl.... what a great read!

Okay, now that you've ordered your own copy of Lena Dunham's brilliantly written book, Not That Kind of Girl, I can tell you how much I loved it.  Looved it, fo' sho'. (Like my name, Forshaw, Fo' sho'... whatevs, makes me laugh! lol!)

Anyway, I did have some trepidation reading the book, since all that crap from some crazy Right Wing 'lady', if you could possibly move that word over that far... but, anyway, you know that whole controversy, which is entirely unfounded, is just total media crap, nothing to worry about, at all... just Lena Dunham openly telling the real stories of her life, an incredible look at what Lena was like as a child, and how incredibly intricate someone's childhood can be, whether or not there's a parent or an adult to notice it...

Oooh, and I should say, too, this book is not for the squeamish, the faint of heart, the people who wish it were that pretend time in 1952, that was really only good for super-white WASPy men... so, a fictitional 1952 (annoyingly, 'fictitional' is not in my Oxford-go-to-dictionary, that I keep on my desk, for every-day use, as-it-were... lol!  So, a 'fictitious' 1952, if that makes anyone feels better, but me... one way or another, THAT 1952 never did exist, and doesn't, today, and, so, I wish people would stop making reference to 'the good old days' - those days were horrible for the vast majority of the people, and there you have it... my real views! lol!)... this is straight-up, it's real, and it's brilliant.

I was very taken by how attentive Lena's parents were to her needs as a child - wow.  This is the difference in children raised after the 70's, maybe?? haha!  When they use the phrase, "Free Range Children" (Free Range, not just for Chickens, any more.. buh'dum-bum...), that makes me laugh, because, really, it's probably parents who are trying to do the right thing, give their children more freedom, but the reality is, lots of kids didn't make it through our 'total freedom' - I remember a bizarre time when we all played on the railroad tracks, over the creek, and you were always getting your foot caught between the ties.. is that what they're called?  Dammit, now I have to go look that up - lol!  Anyway, that was no joke, hearing the train, knowing you had to get your foot free, run off the tracks to safety.  And I do remember some sort of vague story about someone not making it, a boy... is a very old story, and of course, no one ever spoke the truth to us, especially to the children - hard to tell if they told the truth to themselves or each other, either, frankly - was a very different time, and I Thank God we're not parenting like that, any more.

That said, Lena Dunham clearly has wonderful parents, who fostered her intellectual growth, along with everything else, and look what we have now - a truly brilliant voice of her generation, but one that everyone can learn from, and enjoy.

Oh, and if you looove Lena Dunham, you'll know she loves New York City, and so, you might, too - lol!

The formal picture of Lena Dunham with her 'girls' from her hit HBO show, Girls....

And then my favourite picture, of all the girls really laughing - why can't we have more pictures like THAT?  Look how happy they all are - now that's what I want to see - lol!

Just in case you used to loove Dr. Seuss, and want to add this to your collection - lol!

Happy Reading!  Nothing better than a book you can't put down, try to find spaces in your day - or night - when you can get back to reading it, then tell everyone about it!  Thanks, Lena!  You're Brilliant!

Oh, and I love, love, loved page 49... let me know what you think of it, too : )

Happy Reading!!  Ailsa : )

Get you some HBO - lol! Girls, on HBO - lol!

Here's another option for getting a great deal on your favorite shows... I love the a la carte option, where you only pay for the channels you choose - really, I only watch a handful of channels, when it comes down to it, but we've been forced into buying 'bundles' for years... and you might watch one or two of the channels, per bundle, or stop watching something, completely, but still pay for the bundles... this way, you can pick and choose, pay for what you really watch - yahoo!  Hello, modern thinking! lol!
