Watermelon Slices - Look Ma, No Rinds! : )

Yum, Watermelon slices!  Who doesn't love Watermelon?  And especially when it's really hot outside, it's lovely to have some nice, cool and crispy watermelon slices.  And not to have to worry about where to put the watermelon rind, if you're at a party, or if you've taken your watermelon to the living room, and now you're all comfy on the couch, and you can't be bothered walking all the way back to the kitchen to throw out your watermelon rinds.... lol!

I don't know why I didn't think of this, before, but we are totally out of space in our fridge, as usual... I make a lot o' fancy things, and they're always taking up a lot of space in the fridge, and then we go and get more fancy stuff that we love, jam that in the fridge... anyway, so this was my Big Solution, and we looove it!  And it made soo many watermelon slices.... and my son still had a giant quarter-of-the-melon slice - funny boy! lol!

So, really, I hadn't thought of cutting it in slices when I started out with this lovely , fresh watermelon, tonight, but then I thought, well, I'll just try it... this is how everything great ever starts for me! haha!  I just cut the watermelon in half, as usual, then cut slices to the rind, then carefully removed the 'meat' of the watermelon... can't think of a better word than that, so hopefully no one is offended by that... but you know what I mean - just carefully remove the fruit, then cut thick slices, then cut each of those thick slices into nice relatively thin slices... is soo great!

And today I'm making Watermelon Popsicles - yum! Fresh and delicious!

Just cut your Watermelon into thick slices, push a popsicle stick into each slice of Watermelon, and pop in the freezer - we had to use a bunch of little pieces of plastic wrap to keep each Watermelon Popsicle separate, so they're easy to take apart, don't stick together into one giant Watermelon Popsicle - lol! Yum!

Just cut both ends of the watermelon off, then removed the peel so you have a nice, easy section to cut into thick slices - and what you don't freeze into popsicles, you can slice any thickness you like - I love the little thin slices of watermelon - light and delicious! #SoGood!

See how easy? Sooo easy! lol!

And then we just save our popsicle sticks, now, wash them and keep them for the next new popsicles we like to make! Yum! Make Your Own Popsicles!

Here's something fun to make, if the person (or you!) happens to love Watermelon, and they might like a Watermelon Cake... you could cover it lightly with some icing of whip cream (think I would be more likely to go with the whip cream... or mix the two, together, right - a very extra-light icing? )

You could just cut the top off of it, too, if you want it to be flat at the top, too : )

Brazil Nuts - Yum!
And then, covered in Dark Chocolate? Yes, please! : )

Oh, did you read that study that suggests that Brazil Nuts have all sorts of amazing Health Benefits? Very cool, right?  Nuts of all varieties - not the ones you might have dated - bah'hahahaha! - but all the regular nuts, cashews, pecans, walnuts... all of them - and the Dried Fruit - yum! So delicious, really good for you and your family - and great prices, too? Yes, please!

Oh, Nuts!

Hey, did you know this is how Brazil Nuts come about? haha! Who knew? Not me! lol!

That is the coolest, right? And those aren't my pics - although, one day, now, I wanna go check this out, all on mah' own, too! lol! Now I'm curiouser and curiouser! haha!

I cut the Watermelon Rind off right in the bag - makes it super-easy to toss it out, or, better yet, put it in a compost, if you happen to have a compost.. a lot of places have the community members just separate their produce refuse (if you will - lol!), and it's sent directly to a community compost area - good idea, right? They should let people just go and get the good composted soil, whenever they need it, since they're going to all the bother of sending it to the composting place, right? Hmmm...

We just cover it lightly, pop it in the fridge, so we can just go in and quickly get a little slice of watermelon - quick and easy, neat and tidy : )

Now you and your guests, or children, or anyone you might choose to share your watermelon with (!), can easily have a nice, neat little slice of watermelon, no muss, no fuss, and no mess!  Yahoo!  No one's gonna drip watermelon juice all over your beautiful white carpet - hahaha!  Noo, I joke, you prolly haven't invited anyone over for watermelon parties on your beautiful white carpet - very smart.  Keep it for yourself in the kitchen! lol!

 Yum, right? Deeelish!

Oh, you know what I've been meaning to try, and may be you have the room in your freezer, and you can keep the watermelon long enough to have some set aside,or left over (a miracle, in our house - lol! Everyone loooves Watermelon!)

Yum!  I got this gorgeous Godiva Chocolate Basket for Christmas, from my lovely children, last year - yum! Remarkably, ! still have sonme left - how did THAT happen?? hahahah! The Chocolate Covered Pretzels are ah'mazing!! Yum!!

Anyway, what if you cut thick slices, in rectangles, push a popsicle stick into the bottom of the Watermelon Popsicle, pop them in the freezer... would that work, I wonder? Might be worth a shot, right? That could be delicious, if it works - lol! You would have to freeze them 'flat', so they don't stick together, or wrap them, individually... or mash the Watermelon, pour it into a popsicle mould?

I think you could probably pick one up at the Dollar Store, or maybe you have one kicking around, from years ago, when everyone used to make their own popsicles.. we're Scottish, so we called them Ice Lollies - what a cute name, right? hahahaha! That takes me back! lol! And sounds like something you would go and watch - the Ice Lollies, like the Ice Capades... hahahaha!

Let me know if you try it, and if it works - lol! : )

Now I just need to find the space in my fridge for a giant Macaroni Salad, since I'm obsessed with it, these days - is soo super-crazy-healthy, soo delicious, a nice, no-brainer meal, any time, fat-free, jam packed full o' veggies... is amazing, but I need a LOT o' space in the fridge for that, too... it makes a gigantic bowl of deliciousness... I'll make it, tomorrow, but would be perfect alongside your watermelon slices for a Summer BBQ : )

Enjoy!  Ailsa : )

Hahaha!  This made me laugh - Save the Earth, Refurbished Phones starting at FREE! hahaha! Free, my favourite word! lol!

Save big on Fitbit® One and Zip with promo code: FITBITDEAL. 4/14-7/13 While Supplies Last!

You can keep your whole Watermelon, sliced, right in a 9" X 13" pan - that slides right in the fridge, is super easy to just pop in the fridge, grad a slice, any time you like : )

I like a really nice, thin, slice of Watermelon, and now we like little Watermelon 'Sticks' - yum! Just the right amount, easy to eat, not messy - great for you, great for the carpet - lol!

Big Brother 16, Sunday, Dirty Sunday??

Wow, so Frankie's two nominees won the competition, so now Frankie's lost his HOH status, and he could go up on the block - guess we'll see how long the Bond of Boys (and two more girls... wth?? lol!) stands up... poor Devin, he's soo good looking, is so much fun to look at all his muscles, but I no thinks there's a Big Brain behind all that Brawn... he's losin' it with the alliances, and I really did like Devin until he did the dirty (Scottish style, not anything else...) on poor ol' Donny... that was unnecessarily mean, wasn't it?  Why did Devin have to pull out the tears for Donny - that seemed remarkably weird... not a good sign, and he's already throwing up enough red flags for almost all of the men in his alliance to question his behavior, so that not good....

I still like Frankie the best, so I hope he's safe, but now he's got two pissed off girls, Victoria, and Brittany, and who knows if any of the girls have really been talking, past their initial 'let's have a girls alliance' chat on the first night... but Big Brother, like any Reality TV show, is highly edited, sooo, they could be talking, and we just don't know it... and I had to laugh when one of the girls was trying to talk to Jocasta about an alliance, and Jocasta says she only has an alliance with God - hahahahaha!  Made me laugh.  Yeah, God totally wants you to go ahead and form some human alliances, too...

Nicole and Christine have formed their little alliance, and think they can pretty much trick everyone into thinking they're super smart, on account'a they wear big framed glasses - hahahaha!  Okay, go ahead with you bad selves... I love that!  That makes me laugh, too!  lol!

I loved the Twenties Ball - hilarious, great outfits... I guess good thing they were all strapped into those swings - holy crap, batman, were you surprised at how much they were strapped in?  They couldda climbed a mountain in that gear...

So is gonna be interesting to see who wins the Veto Challenge, and who all is nominated for that...Paola and Donny, and does that mean one more person will go on the block, or two more people?? See how confusing, on Day 3? lol! I wonder how long Big Brother will use this 2 head of households thing - seems a little too tricky, but I guess we'll see how it all plays out, this week, then see how long it lasts... and I thought, fer sures, we would've seen one of the #TeamAmerica missions, tonight, but looks like we have to wait for the next episode?  I hope Joey pulls it off, I want to see her win some money. Okay, see you soon!  Go get yoursel' a wee snack! : )  Ailsa

Big Brother 16 - Expect the Unexpected, for real, in BB16 - Twisted!

Wow, so Big Brother 16 is alive and well, and TWISTED! lol!  I'll tell you, it's a good thing Americans are used to the convoluted way they calculate how the USA Soccer Team goes on in the Fifa World Cup Soccer - it gives everyone a fighting chance to follow how complicated it is to get evicted from the Big Brother house, this summer - haha!  Seriously, it's a'gonna be tricky-dicky, fer sures....

So, here's how it looks like it's gonna go - there are two HOHs, and each Head of Household nominates two houseguests for eviction, and THEN, those four nominated houseguests go up against each other, 2 from each nominated team, and the WINNER of that battle will dethrone the HOH who nominated them.... super simple, right?? hahahaha!  Soooo, get yer brains'a'ready for BB16!

Okay, so we'll figure that out as we go... will be easier when we all see it in action, and will be really interesting to see how the two HOHs from this week, Frankie (my favourite, so far) and Caleb (very good looking, ex-military), figure out which houseguests to nominate... do you choose your weakest players, since you don't want them to win, since that would immediately dethrone the HOH who nominated them, and then the HOH could be put up on the block... tricky tricky!

So here's the rundown of 'characters' for this summer's Big Brother house... Frankie, my early fave, but his sister is Ariana Grande, so maybe he doesn't need the money?  Hmmm, hard to say, a sibling isn't usually inclined to hand their money over to another sibling, so Frankie could need the money (plus, what if Frankie Goes to Hollywood, he'd need some cashola...hahahaha!  Sorry, couldn't resist that! lol!). I guess I like it better if the person who wins Big Brother really needs the money, and it'll really change their life...

And that brings me to Derrick, the police officer with an 18th month old daughter, who wants to win the money to make the lives better of his little family, his wife and daughter - that's sweet, I like that story, and he seems like a good guy....

Zach seems like a total jerk, but maybe that's a little show, and he's not THAT horrible, buuuut, sure seems like his middle name might start with a D...think you know where I'm goin' wit' dat...lol

Victoria seems like a character from The Kroll Show (which I love) - she's straight-up said she's manipulative, and so has Paola (Pow Pow, or Pao Pao... not sure if anyone will actually call her that - would be hilarious if you made up your own idiot nickname - that's even funnier than if your buddies give you your nickname...), so maybe these two girls will team up...or be arch enemies... you never know how that'll go.

Brittany is the very pretty 29 year old mother of 3 from Long Beach, California - good for her to be in such great shape after 3 kids - hopefully, she'll share with the group how she got back into that great shape, and how she maintains it (I'm hoping she lifts weights with the machines or free weights at the gym - my own fave way to get into great shape for women), but she seems nice... maybe a little too nice, but we'll see who she works with - so far, it looks like Brittany and Derrick will work well together... Parents Unite! lol!

Christine looks pretty reasonable, a good girl, used to dealing with a lot of people, so that's a good trait, and Joey seems like a good girl, too - Joey's a Liberal Girl loking for a 'Hot Liberal Man' - aren't we all?? hahahahahaha!  Okay, that makes me laugh, and I sittin' here all by mah'self! lol!  I don't want to marry any more Republicans - man, how come they're always so successful?? hahahaaha!

I like Donny, 42, the oldest one in the Big Brother house (old at 42 - hahaha!) - Donny seems like such a down-to-earth guy, and he's watched every season of Big Brother, sooo, Donny could get really far in the game, and Devin, the very handsome man on BB, the former baseball player and single dad (wonder where the mom is?  Maybe he'll say, later...), but Devin is definitely fun to watch...and Amber certainly agrees with that - I loved the way Amber was checkin' out Devin, right from the start, then not happy when Devin glances over at Joey... drama!! lol!

Nicole looks like someone who will fly under the radar - very quiet, says she's a nursing student, but thought she said she had already graduated... maybe she has more game than she initially looks like she has... Nicole might be a sleeper...

Cody is the very pretty soccer player - Paola AND Frankie really like Cody, sooo, that'll be interesting... and then there's Jocasta, the minister and motivational speaker with 2 little boys, and Hayden, the pedicab driver in Long Beach, California... they both seem really nice... until the fightin' begins, then we'll really get to see who's a little fighter, and who's the most masterful manipulator! lol!

And here's my favourite line of BB16, so far... "You're so strong, My God, you're like a bull..." Frankie to Caleb...great line!

#TeamAmerica winner this week is Joey - very cool that Joey can win $5,000 for each mission she can accomplish - I like anything where people can win extra money, just in case they don't get all the way through, and win the half a million dollar BB prize...

Let the Big Brother games begin! lol!  See you soon, Ailsa : )
