Holy Schmokes, what's going on at The Vatican, these days?? We just finished reading Dan Brown's Angels and Demons (phenomenal read, by the way, if you haven't read it, yet, you're in for a real treat!), but, man, it's like all the intrigue and possible murder of The Pope are straight out of a Dan Brown book! Is crazy! What on Earth is going on in The Vatican?? The Butler did it?? Holy Smokes (would be a good name for cigarettes sold around the Vatican, right?? haha! Or maybe the origins of the term 'Holy Smokes' doesn't just come from the old Batman series, which I looved (!), but maybe the origin of 'Holy Smokes' comes from the smoke that is sent up during the election of a new Pope?? You know, the black smoke when they're not in agreement, and white smoke when a new Pope has been chosen? Just a little thought.... it's the kind of thing I think about! lol!
I'm thinking this is a good time (and good summer reading, anyway) to read all the Dan Brown novels.... The Da Vinci Code (brilliant), Angels and Demons (remarkable, incredible, and now... true???), Deception Point (and now with the first trip into space with the independently owned SpaceX making the drop off in space (using the Canadian Arm I think!)... man, that goes right to Deception Point... is Dan Brown clairvoyant?? Or just brilliant?
Now I've got Dan Brown's Digital Fortress -- it's waiting for me to read it on my night stand, but it's hard for me to read Dan Brown's books at bed time! lol! You never know where they're going, so I love to read something light and friendly at bed time! lol! Right now, I am making my way through all the Sophie Kinsella books -- they're great! Light and fun, very moving and once you get started, you just can't stop... but no Vatican intrigue! lol! For Sopie Kinsella books, my favorite, so far, was Twenties Girl (sooo sweet and a lovely message), and now I'm reading Remember Me, which is hilarious, and I was up 'til 2 in the morning, last night, reading that... and the Sophie Kinsella book that got me started on her boks was her brand new book, I've Got Your Number, which I couldnt put down, was so funny and sooo sweet... fantastic summer reads, for sures! And then I went to the library and ordered in (though the Inter-Library Service, which is a fantastic feature for all libraries) all the rest of the Sophie Kinsella novels -- so now I've got all the Shopoholic series, and am loving these lovely wee reads!!
I've included this link to an article on The Butler, Gabriele, and the situation at The Vatican... is pretty scary, to think of real live intrigue really happening at the Vatican, but I suppose with that level of wealth and power, it's definitely a real possibility.... a real life mystery, to be sure! At the very least, happy summer reading! Ailsa : )
