AND, I just found out that you can just pour heavy cream into a pan, heat it up, add some butter, let that cook down, no flour necessary, then gradually add in your cheese, salt and pepper, to taste... yum! Add Parmesan Cheese, if you want to make an Alfredo Sauce - so easy, right? And healthy! : )

Sooo Easy Macaroni and Cheese - delicious!

Can you really make Macaroni and Cheese in one pot, no fiddling around with a fancy sauce?  Yep!  I just did it - we had sooo much extra cheese in the fridge, because Walmart had a great price on their cheese, last week, but I can never be bothered with fussing around in the kitchen - I want delicious, healthy, straight-forward food, and this couldn't be any easier : )

Oh, and for the record, WalMart in Canada is really nice, employees are paid well, because we have a good minimum wage (and probably get annual raises), and they treat their employees well, here - hope that happens in the States, soon, too : )

Go ahead and put the water on for your macaroni - I pour in about 3/4 of the bag - use as much as you like : )

Cut up your cheese into little cubes, then cut some butter into cubes, too. I used about 3/4 of the package of sharp cheddar cheese, and about a stick of butter (in Canada, we don't get our butter in sticks - booo!  I love how they sell butter in the states : ) lol!

If you know me, and I hopes you do ( lol! ), you'll know that I rarely measure anything - pour this in, a splash o' that...you know, that sort of thing : )

It's so fast to cook the macaroni, so just drain the macaroni when it's cooked the way you like it (I always do a little taste test - take one noodle out, see if it's just right), give it a quick rinse with cold water, so the pasta doesn't stick, then pour the macaroni right back in the same pot you cooked it in.

Give it a good stir - I use my oven mitts on the pot handle, for extra safety... and add a splash of milk when you need to make it easier to stir, but you want the pasta to stay hot while the cheese and butter is melting - I would imagine you could easily use margarine, instead, I'm just a butter girl, is all : )  But you'll know when to add some milk - you'll want to add some milk, stir, stir, stir, add some more milk, stir again...maybe more milk and stir some more... until it's beautiful and smooth...yum!

Yum, right??  It's perfect, so lovely and cheesy, no hassles with a tricky cheese sauce... and absolutely delicious : )

We each had a bowl of this fabulously easy macaroni and cheese, then I poured the rest into an 8" X 8" pan, sprinkled it with Seasoning salt and shredded cheese, popped it in the freezer for another meal, another day - soo easy, and makes at least 6 meals, maybe more : )

Omg, this Macaroni and Cheese is soo easy!

You can pop this right in the oven at 350 Degrees F, probably 20 to 30 minutes...and you can add some bread crumbs with some dobs of butter, if you really want to 'fancy it up' - lol!  I think you could probably make your own bread crumbs with some toast - process it or crush it, if it's easy to crumble?  Hmmm, haven't tried that, yet... but might be worth a try! Ooh, what about some crushed chips, corn chips or Doritoes? lol!  We couldn't wait - we just had the macaroni and cheese, right away, wanted to see if this worked! haha!  And it was seriously lovely, and super easy.

Oh, and salt and pepper, to taste... : )

Happy Eating!!  Ailsa  : )
