#LifeHack: Cool Down Your Brownies with a Lid - and keep any wee beasties off yer brownies (noo, not the kids...hahaha!)

Oh, little Brownie Joke for you... I just said it to mah' son... "What did the brownie say when he came out the oven?  I'm baked."  Buh'dum-bum! haha!  Made us laugh - is prolly an old joke, but came over me, jus' now - hahaha!

So I just took the Brownies out the oven, and I want to cool them down and keep the moisture in the brownies, since you always want your brownies to be lovely and chewy and moist, right?

Anyway usually I just cover my baking with a little kitchen towel, a dishcloth, to keep any wee beasties, flies, fruit flies, that sort of thing... it's hot as helll here, these days, we're in a heat wave, and we don't have screens on our doors or windows, since we hardly have any little flying insects or anything (lots of lovely birds, though - lol!), so our doors and windows are all open.. anyway, we're the only ones who should have access to the delicious brownies, right? hahaha!

Well, this ad makes me laugh! lol!

I thought this was brilliant, since there's the hole in the lid of a pot, anyway, and that'll let the steam come out, no bother, and protect our precious brownies, until the brownies are cool enough to frost, then I'll pop them in the fridge - unless my son wants to have warm brownies with ice cream - will go ask mah' boy what he wants - lol!

If you've taken your brownies out a little bit early (not a lot early...lol!), but you still want some heat to make it's way to your lovely brownies, you can set them on the back right hand burner, and the chances are very high that some heat will come up from the oven, even after you've turned the oven off...

I'll add the pics of the Brownies when they're all done! I mean, ready to put on a plate - lol!

 Yum, right?  Yum!!

This really makes me laugh - is a little silly, but a fun way to take you' food pics - just hold your plate with something lovely to eat on it, up against something pretty in your house - some flowers, a calendar (that's the Butchart Gardens calendar in these next two shots) - just makes me laugh! lol!

Oh, you know what?  I think the next time I make Brownies, I'll definitely use the Parchment Paper - I used Parchment Paper the last time I made Banana Bread, and it made it soo easy to take out of the pan, and for cutting the Banana Bread... when you use the Parchment Paper, which you can pick up at most Dollar Stores - is cheaper there than anywhere else, and is the same product... anyway, you can just lift your baking right out of the pan, wait 'til it cools, then cut into squares or slices, and you won't have any hassle with trying to get nice and neat pieces  : )

Happy Eating!! Ailsa : )

Mmmm, pie! lol! I particularly love a slice o' dat Internet Pie!
